About Me

My name's Danny McCormack, although I'm not the same one who used to play bass for the Wildhearts unfortunately, so apologies if that's confused you a little (it still does me on a daily basis). I'm an Electric Bass player based in Belfast Northern Ireland, and as I type this I've been plying my trade for around 7 years. I've played bass for numerous bands throughout my musical life, the rewards of which have been extremely memorable and enjoyable! Some of the projects I've been involved with recently include:
Horslypse
Sunshine
Sgt Peppers' Only Smart Pub Band
Freerider
Billy Hurricane and The Poets
Rois Kelly
I love all kinds of music, and have listened to artists from most nameable genres (and some which just cannot be classified!) I enjoy playing and listening on a daily basis, constantly striving to improve as a musician and bass player (no jokes please). I also enjoy collecting instruments which is proving to be a costly habit of mine!
I own and use the following instruments for gigging and recording -
Fender Jazz Bass (1961)
Fender Jazz Bass (1962)
Fender Fretless Precision Bass (vintage 1965)
Hofner Beatle Bass Copy

...through Hartke Bass Amplification which I love!
Effects wise, I keep it fairly simple and at the moment have the following pedals on my pedalboard for general use -
Morley Little Alligator Volume Pedal
DHA Valvetone 1 Drive Pedal
Korg DT10 Tuner Pedal
I'm always looking for new challenges, and have played with numerous musicians around my area and thoroughly enjoyed it every time. I'm always available for musical endeavours - if you need a bass player for a gig, a recording, or even a sample - I'd be happy to help you out.
Thanks for visiting my page and don't be a stranger!
Note - I'm keeping a full, updated list of my gigs on my website from now on, which you can view here - Danny McCormack Online
