About Me

CHILDHOOD=As far Back as I can remember Music was apart of me. It started out with the Drums when I was 3, then I moved on to the Piano, then every instrument I put my hands on God Blessed me to play them. I grew up in the same neighborhood with Prince, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, attended North high School ( In MPLS ). Post High school was Iowa State for 2 years, then my money ran out, then I came back home.Upon returning home from college a friend of mine (Andre Cymone) was working on his album. Andre, myself and another good friend (Johnny Simpson A.K.A art work) started jamming together everyday all day. Johnny & I just knew that this was our big break into the music biz. STOP. Johnny's big break, Andre used his sister (Linda) to play drums for him AN NOT ME. Its cool now, but it wasn't at the time.TECH TO THE "STARS"= My professional career began in 1991 when I started working for Prince. I started out as a guy who just pushed road cases & hung out with the band (mostly hanging out with the band is what I did) but it was cool. The reason I hung out with the band is because, prince & me grew up in the same neiberhood (he knew me & I knew him) and I also grew up with a few of the band members (Tony M. Damon D. & Kirk J. ) as well.As time went on my responsibility grew in the Prince camp. Before I new it Prince asked me to be apart of the NPG band (percussionist), then he took me under his wing and had me doing almost everything for him. I went from hanging out with the band, to playing in the band, to being the drum tech, keyboard tech, guitar/bass tech, stage mgr., production mgr, video tech and almost anything else Prince needed.I must say, working for Prince prepared me for ALL the other artist Ive worked for thus far. I departed from Prince in March of 1996. In 1997 I got a call to go on tour with Paul Westinburg (the leader of the Replacements) as a drum tech for Michael Bland (whom I tech for with Prince). The production Mgr. For Paul was Tim Mark (quake) whom also was the production Mgr. For Toad The wet Sprocket. Quake got me on as the drum tech for T.T.W.S and after being with the guys for some time and they seen I could play the drums/percussions. They asked me to be their percussionist. After T.T.W.S (this was 1998) I worked for quit a few well-named artist; Primus, blink 182, David Sandborn, Tracy Chapmen, Barry White, R. Kelly and Maxwell. In 2000 I worked for a well known artist by the name of Dangelo, I started out as a drum tech for ?uestLove. But by the end of the tour I was the percussionist / drum tech. After D'angelo I've gone on to tour with Boys II Men, R. Kelly again, Black Street, Blue Man Group, Beyonce, Gloria Estafen, Destiny's Child.CURRENTLY= Out with Beyonce.ALBUMS I'M ON= The only NPG albums (Gold Nigga & The Exodus) ever released out of Paisley Park Studio. 2000 I Produced 4 Drum tracks on Maxwells Last album.OBJECTIVE= To obtain a Producer/Songwriters Deal or a Production Deal for my Label REACH 1 RECORDS. TO LIVE MY LIFE THAT MY DAUGHTERS & OTHERS WILL SEE GOD WITHIN ME.REACH 1G.B.U= God Bless U
