Tameria Thomas-Burgess is a young gospel artist whose approach to the gospel music world today is noted as unique and soul stirring. Her voice has a rich mixture of the urban contemporary gospel and R&B sound, which comes full of anointing and power. She has been singing since she was 4 years old, beginning in the children’s choir onto the adult choirs. Her goal is to restore hope to the lost, be a witness, through ministry of song.Tameria was provided the opportunity to minister to local and national audiences as he shared the stage with or accompanied A-list gospel artist such as, Karen Clark-Sheard, Myrna Summers, Richard Smallwood, Tremanie Hawkins, Isaiah Thomas, Stephen Herd, Van and Flo, Kenneth Hilliard and Fresh Anointing, Earl Muschette and NuMobb, more! As an solos artist, Tameria has graced the pulpits of many churches locally as a Sermonic Soloist/Psalmist during Anniversaries, Morning Worship Services, and more. Tameria has even performed before the Former First Lady of the United States, Senator Hillary Rodmen Clinton at Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC.In 2000, Tameria participated in the NAACP Act-So competition for the state of Maryland and won 3rd Place in the Contemporary Gospel category. She has shined as voted “Most Talented Female Vocalist (1999), Top #1 Singer in the Largo High School Vocal Department (2002) and many awards through musical festivals. Tameria received the esteem privilege of performing the “National Anthem” and “We Are the World” at the Department of Agriculture’s Earth Day in 2000.Tameria received her formal education from Prince George’s County Public School. She has studied under Mr. Allen Reed, Mrs. Nancy Almquist, Ms. Veronica Howard, and Mr. Jeremiah Murphy. She is a 2005 graduate of Southeastern University, where she holds a degree in Early Childhood Education.Presently, Tameria is the featured vocalist for Recording Artist Jeremiah Murphy and Judah project entitled “Worship”, and she can be heard on the new single "PRAY”. Also, Tameria can be found ministering with Kevin Terry and Predestined and HerSantuary (a Gospel Girl Group). She is working towards releasing a project Summer of 2009.Never forgetting the importance of spiritual leadership, on Sunday’s Tameria returns to Lighthouse Full Gospel Mission Church in Washington, DC. There, she serves on the choirs and praise team.She currently resides in Bowie, Maryland with her husband Anthony.
