The Günnyval Festival is the biggest festival for newcomer bands in the Oberlausitz, the south-eastern part of Saxony in Germany. This year is the fourth annual gettogether and it attracts more and more visitors. For years it has been a dream of mine to organize such a festival in this area. The main purpose of the event is to give regional bands a platform to introduce themselves and to play in front of a wider audience. It also offers bands the opportunity for networking and the exchange of ideas and experiences. The first Günnyval Festival was a huge success. Both, musicians and guests loved it which motivated me to plan a second festival for the coming year. The 2006 festival was even bigger and a lot more bands performed. Today, the festival is known for its laidback athmosphere and it has an evergrowing fan base.
