I really like to get out in the garden and "dig in the dirt" - it is like therapy for me and the dirtier and sweatier I get the more I like it (although mid summer loses its glamour really fast!). I like music - both singing it and listening to it - and like a lot of different styles (everything except thrash metal and opera!). I like animals and have 3 cats - one female tortoise-shell, one male tuxedo and one male siamese - and a 1 1/2 year old half husky/half akita dog. I like dancing and at one time could really move on the dance floor - don't do much of that now due to family obligations but I still "shake it" in my head!
People who are dealing with the same kind of midlife changes that I am - aging of self, health concerns for those we love (husbands/wives/ significant others), aging of parents, life style changes.
Music is flitting around for me right now - first I'll be listening to country, then rock, then classical. My alltime favorite band is CSNY - for those of you who don't know who that is you are TOO YOUNG! It's Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - the ambassadors of peace rock. I really like just about everything except for thrash metal and opera.
Haven't been out to the movies in years! We tend to wait until things come out on DVD and then watch them....the last one I saw was "Mr and Mrs Smith" which I enjoyed because I am both a Brad and an Angelina fan. I like all kinds of movies except the gory ones.
I am completely devastated because my fave,Chris Daughtry, was sent home from American Idol. I truly believe the show is fixed to who the producers feel is the most marketable to the "Top 40" stations/listeners. Chris will probably be better off not having to cowtow to those idiots and be able to do his music the way he wants. Other than this show (which I doubt that I'll ever watch again - at least until next season!) Sunday nites are my time to for Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.
Well, I finally have gotten around to reading a book - "Marley and Me, the tale of the World's Worst Dog". Read the writeup about this book and had to get it because I have such a maniac in my house - I recommend Marley and Me to anyone who has/had/or wants a dog - it will make you laugh out loud and cry softly. It is a wonderful story of a wonderful life. Next on the agenda is "The Secret Life of Bees" - I saw a woman chuckling to herself in an airport waiting area and asked what she was reading that touched her so. She told me and I have remembered it all this time -...
my mother.
