I love to sing. Let me hear it one time and before its over I will be singing along. I like karaoke. At home my friends and I go to karaoke bars. I like singing at those because all the drunk people applaud you.
I'd like to meet:
The person I'd like to meet is someone who would be a protector, forgiver, understander, giver, healer, deliverer, caretaker, helper...oh I'm talking about God. He is all those things and more. I can't wait to meet Him face to face. !
Music:
Lets just say I was sheltered from music as a child. So, I never know the words to anything. I don't listen to the radio much. Whenever I do though, I listen to R&B (old school), Black Gospel, Contemporary Christian, and especially Jazz. Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Nancy Wilson, Billy Holiday, Lena Horne, and Duke Ellington are my favorites.
Movies:
It doesn't take much to please me when it comes to movies. Heck! I want to write movies. I love every genre and can appreciate just about every movie. Somebody stole my Sounds of Music. I had the collectors copy. I'm pretty upset about this. It's my favorite movie. Imagine inviting some international friends over to watch the one movie that you think they'll understand...everyone sits down and is extremely comfortable with lots of snacks in front of them. You go to your movie collection to get out the Sounds of Music and its no where to be found. So instead we watched Mary Poppins and all of us fell asleep when she sang "Feed the Birds". I was so mad. Okay, can someone buy me a new copy for Christmas. I'd really appreciate it.
Television:
My all time favorite show would have to be...Days of Our Lives. Lets face it folks--I'm addicted. Help me! I've been watching this never ending soap opera since I was twelve years old. So this would only happen in Kentucky. Chelsea is in love with her father's, Bo, adopted brother Max. Max is beginning to fall in love with his adopted sister's, Kayla, daughter, Stephanie. Sami and her sister Karie have taken turns sleeping with Austin and his brother Lucas. While their sister Belle has gone between Austin, Lucas and Bo's brother Philip and also Bo's son' Shawn. Shawn's mother is pregnant by Shawn's wife's, Mimi, brother Patrick. Patrick also dated Shawn's sister's, Chelsea, mother, Billie. Billie is the sister to Austin, Lucas and Philip. Chelsea is the daughter of Bo and Billie. Billie is now beginning to have a thing for Patch, Bo's sister's, Kayla, husband. Kate has a thing for John, her son's, Philip, wifes, Belle, dad. Meanwhile Marlena, John's wife and Belle and Sami's mother, is falling again for Roman, Sami and Karie's dad. Isn't this show crazy! I could go on for all the days of my life about this show.
Books:
Right now I'm reading "Don't Make a Black Woman Take off Her Earrings" by Tyler Perry. This is a funny book. For those of you who don't know...Tyler Perry is the writer of all the Madea plays.
Heroes:
My hero is Jesus Christ. He saved me from an Eternity in Hell. Praise God!!! Halleluia! Thank You, Jesus! He's the greatest hero in the whole entire world. All I had to do was call his name and he came running into my heart. He will never leave me nor forsake me. He loves me. He has great plans for my life and great plans for your life too. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and his ways are much higher than our ways. Oh if I had ten thousand tongues I wouldn't be able to thank God enough. You don't know all that he has done in my life. He has seen me through dangers unseen. He has blocked me from a path of drugs, abusive relationships, and much more. I love the Lord and I would love to introduce him to you. Let me know if you want to meet him.
