Nov/??? - " CEASE TO EXIST... "
...is a new live music night at The Half Moon, Herne Hill.
It's going to be on Thursday nights from 7:00pm - 11:00pm ( with optional late disco, for those that don't have to get up on Friday mornings and also those that do, it's entirely up to you ).
There's going to be one or two bands per night.
I'm booking the shows, so if you are interested in playing, please get in touch and let me know when you would be available to play.
***NB - it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, the music policy is that CEASE TO EXIST will only be booking bands that make music they are into, so, apologies in advance if you don't make the sort of music that CEASE TO EXIST is looking to book. However, please don't worry, as there are loads of club nights and live music venues springing up all over the place now, so there will be a home for you somewhere - NB***
Also, I know some of you may have an aversion to SE London, but it's not that far really.
The overland is great.
Kentish Town to Herne Hill in 25mins, Blackfriars, Victoria, Sydenham, even Luton and Watford can be reached from Herne Hill, there really are no excuses.
So, there you go.
A new live music night at an amazing venue.
Over and out.

March/April/May/June/July/August - " So, it goes something like this... "
For a few years now, I've wanted to organise something, a concert, a party, good times essentially.
Now, when I went to SXSW with The Early Years in March, I was recommended and eventually stumbled upon The Dream Machine, which was organised by the wonderful Mike Howl from The Dolly Partners.
Well, my good friends, it was as if all my Christmas' had come at once.
I suddenly felt like I had found a home.
The whole atmosphere was something that I simply haven't experienced or witnessed here in the UK ( everone's too busy trying to make money or be " cool " ).
The bands I met and the music I heard was so amazing that I have become determined to spread the word.
My mission now is to bring the bands I met over there, over here to the UK so that you can fall in love with them too.
Hence the " do ".
Believe me Brothers and Sisters when I say this :
YOU NEED TO SEE AND HEAR THESE BANDS
In my mind it will go something like this :
THE DREAM MACHINE UK
Date : Fri 24th - Mon 27th August
Location : A field on a farm ( It's a secret damn it ).
Capacity : 500 people
My Dream Line Up ( tbc )
The Early Years
Lab Partners
The Cush
yndi halda
Outrageous Cherry
The Asteroid #4
White Russians
Je Suis Animal
First Communion After Party
Sunsplit
Kontakte
Gilbert
Labrats
( plus one or two more treats )
*** PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A PRIVATE PARTY - PLEASE NOTE ***
People will only be able to come to the fezzie if I know them or they are friends of friends ( no tossers allowed ).
It's a six degrees of seperation thing.

Feb/March 07 - “ The world is truly a wonderful place. “ - The madness continues.
Ok, so the last couple of months have been the most amazing I’ve had in a long, long time.
First of all there was New York.
The Early Years played a couple of shows in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Jaws dropped at every gig.
We also went to Electric Lady studios where the band recorded a brilliant set for UGO which should be on-line any day now. Jimi would have been proud.
Oh and someone ran off with Rogers’ guitar. Wankers.
Mayhem and madness was enjoyed by all. Big thanks to Joel from Beggars US who was the perfect host.
Then back to blighty for a UK Tour.
Norwich, Nottingham, Brighton, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, London
Amazing sets every night, Nottingham and Leeds were particular highlights as was The Luminaire gig in London. A big thank you to everyone that came along.
Now we come to The Black Angels at Sonic Cathedral.
What a night ( well, three nights actually as I stumbled along to their Shepherds Bush Empire gigs with The Black Keys as well ).
They are an amazing band, miss them at your peril.
Following this was The Early Years gig at The Borderline for Steve Lamacq and his 6 Music Radio show.
Quite simply, they blew everyone else off the stage.
Awesome.
Next stop SXSW where The Early Years are playing a couple of shows.
Mar 14 - Emo's Jr, SXSW Festival, Austin, Texas
Mar 17 - The Mohawk, Austin, Texas
Yeehaw, motherfuckers.

Oct/Nov/Dec 06 - " Whatever happened to good old fashioned honest belief ? " -It's all second guessing and predictions now.I'm too old to answer to anyone ( turned 35 in October, halfway through my three score years and ten - unless I have an early bath ).
I now spend my time doing the following :
Organising/Promoting Shhh... a night I run at The Luminaire featuring bands and music that I love.
Tour Manager/Roadie for bravecaptain, The Early Years.
Producing/Directing videos and films, but ONLY with bands that I like. I really can't handle the system. I'd much rather make things cheaply and under my own terms than expensively and have to answer to dickheads ( you know what I mean ).
Drumming for Labrats.
But most importantly, I'm a dad to Ellie ( 9 ) and Lois ( 6 ) who are the most gorgeous girls in the world ( every dad says that ).
I also bought a van recently and now drive around having fun.
Freewheeling baby.
Lots of love

September 06 -" Is it true ? " -Apparently, it is.The next Shhh... night is now ready to be unveiled and what a corker it promises to be. As you know, the night is about featuring bands and music that I love and I am extremely pleased to announce that we have none other than bravecaptain gracing our presence, in what will be his last ever live performance. It promises to be a glorious evening. It's also my birthday. So, get your arses down there. It will be well worth it :

July 06 -" So what do you do ? " -This is a question I still get asked a lot. But answering it has become a little easier. As you may have read from my earlier nonsense, I never really knew what I did. I did things, lots of things, but it was never really with any sort of career in mind. I was just being myself in different situations. Transferrable skills are extremely useful. You see, the problem for me, is that I like too many things ( who doesn't ). I like music, film, festivals and most of all, being a dad. Having to choose just one thing to concentrate on does my head in. If I focus on film work, I miss music and vice versa ( although I have to say the film world is boring compared with the music shenanigans I've been involved with - hello Rhythm & Vines, Gisborne NZ ). Over the last few months however, I have been lucky enough to meet and work with some amazing people. Most notably, bravecaptain, Alberta Cross, The R.G. Morrison and the wonderful Drift Records. They're great. I also organise a night called Shhh... featuring bands and music I love. The next one is coming up soon and we've got live sets from :
MOWER
ALBERTA CROSS
WHITE RUSSIANS
THE R.G. MORRISON
THIRTY POUNDS OF BONE
LABRATS
Date : Sunday 13th August
Venue : The Luminaire
Doors : 7.00pm
It's going to be bloody ace.
Tickets are available now via www.wegottickets.com
£6 advance, £7 door.
Hope to see you there.
Lots of love

Jan 06 -" So what do you do ? " -This is a question I get asked a lot. Answering it never gets any easier. I've produced independent features, short films, music videos, websites, theatre productions, stage-managed festivals, filmed concerts for DVD's, directed a pilot for a tv show and even worked on a commercial in the Dominican Republic. You name it. I've had a go. The truth, however, is that I don't really know what I do. Soak up the pressure, is one way of looking at it. Taking care of other peoples' crap, is another. Always there when someone is looking for someone to blame for something whether it's their fault or not. A fall guy. Hence the name lynchhim. Because that is what everyone ends up wanting to do to me. Pretty good seller, eh ? The reality is that I'm trying to spend my time filming bands, concerts and tours, making music, looking for work and also searching for people who are interested in setting up a festival with me. I also thought I should get something on-line so that the next time someone asks me that fateful question I can say...." Oh just have a look at my website. "
