About Me

The first rule of Mr. McFee is you do not talk about Mr. McFee

Finally found a survey that hit me pretty much on the money. And reading the other options, they definitely weren't me. So it wasn't one of those "every option describes every person so it's always right" things. .. Read my VisualDNA ™ Get your own VisualDNA™

My Interests

Piano, Theatre, Teaching, Cars, Motorcycles, Camping, Backpacking, Cooking, Mass Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages - I'm in college.

I'd like to meet:

You!

Music:

Movies:

Fight Club (the headline quote should be a tip off) is my all time favorite movie. Also enjoyed: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Supertroopers, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Sin City, Kill Bill, Reservoir Dogs, Godfather, Goodfellas, Dot the I, Pitch Black, Intolerable Cruelty, Fargo, Casablanca, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Bourne Identity, Good Will Hunting, Mall Rats, 28 Days Later, Syriana, Eastern Promises, History of Violence, American History X, Brooklyn Rules, Ocean's Eleven... The list goes on but that's a primer.

Television:

THE OFFICE! Completely addicted. Other than that, South Park, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Daily Show, Colbert Report - your typical Comedy Central addict.

Books:

I have a fairly significant list, but by far the first on it is Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and if you don't love "The Poisonwood Bible" by Kingsolver, I'm not sure we can be friends. Also, just finished "Papillon" (I understand there's a movie?) which was just fabulous. Never thought I'd be rooting that hard for a life-long convict... I read voraciously, and could go on a tirade of books just like I did movies, but would a bunch of titles mean anything to you? I like essentially every kind of book, as long as it's well written. I enjoy clever turns of phrase and intriguing ways of describing mundane details, and I loathe drudgery - the minute a book loses my interest I drop it and grab one that can keep me absorbed.

fire and smoke

Breathe in fire, breathe out smoke. 7 seconds gone.  Every smoke takes 7 seconds off his life.  These will be deducted later, with interest.  Cigarettes are the long-term savings of sui...

Dispatch from the back lines

Cliches for Justice

Cliches for justice Slam poem (in progress) by Cameron McFee I was walking by the theatre last night and I saw a homeless man huddled under a bus stop, barefoot, and I thought, "no one has ever walke...

Prescriptive Linguistics vs Descriptive Linguistics

(I realize this paper deteriorates strongly in clarity and conciseness as it goes on, but I just can't clean the latter half up any more without losing the point)     That the English ...

TANSTAAFL

TANSTAAFL: from the book The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, by Robert Heinlein, means There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.  It's an acronym (not an initialism, you can't pronounce an initialism,...

Step down from the car, with your preferred card ready:

So I'm at Albertson's, buying cat food for the inordinate quantity of cats I'm currently in charge of maintaining (Purina, the green bag... I even wrote it down).  I pick up the bag, check the pr...

I have seen the future... and it smells like dead pigs

So about 1:45 AM last night I had an interesting encounter with a man who I have determined must be from the future.  I'm doing my usual nightly safeway routine of making sandwiches until my eyes...

...I wish were from a less feline situation.  So I have two cats.  One we've had forever, an old tabby named Hally (short for Hally O' Weenie as she was originally adopted on Halloween), who...
