TANK
I’m a promoter since 2001, back then I started with my brother doing our own party on a small scale.
We started out under the name: TANK(2001-2005). The event was held in an art club called Artist society De Kring. The party’s were all with local dj’s. Once every month, on the last Saturday of the month TANK made her appearance. Every night had is own theme. Most important thing is that the audience didn’t have to dress up for it; al materials were present at the venue. Al lot of interaction between the audience came forward on idea’s we thought up. Themes like the Sweat Shop, customizing your own shirt or Fluor Fantastique, black light party with a lot of fluorescing objects and make up were the big hits back then.
SCHOOL
At that point I was still on school. A lot of the stuff we did for the party was also used for school assignments. I was doing Bachelor in Communication. I got the decree in 2005.
After that more and more work came my way. Started doing production stuff for Olga Zegers form ID&T. ID&T does a lot of big techno en trance festivals in Holland and Belgium. Maybe the most well know is the Sensation (football stadium) and out door Mystryland festival. Started working on artist handling on these big festivals. I immediately noticed that I really liked working with bookers, artists and dj’s.
MRKMLN.
In 2001 I started my own company. It is called MRKMLN group form my first names MIRIK MILAN.
After that I started creating new concepts for party’s which I have been doing ever since.
MEUBELSTUKKEN.NL
In 2003 Meubel Stukken, the company which is responsible for the best party in Holland ask me to come and work for them. The company was set up by DJ and Promotor Joost van Bellen and creative director Peter van de Meulen, both worked at the famous club Roxy which burnt down in 1996. Joost van Bellen became a big inspiration for me. After I have been working for them a couple of months I really was hooked to the dance scene. My first project was RAUW(2003-present). Nowadays a well knows party concept is Europe combining live music and dj’s. Almost all big electro and Rock & Rave artists played for us. With the help of our good friends form DECKED-OUT! In London we managed to get al the names to play for us. Form felix the House to Justice form The Glimmers to Erol Alkan. Rauw is about bringing renewing music for they how love the extreme.
Next to the big projects I always wanted to organised my own smaller events(250 to 500 visitors) in which I could put all my creative energy.
ZEITGEIST(2005-present) which today is called JUNGSTAR had sadly to change names to avoid big lawsuits which Googlezeitgeist and other big big companies. BS!
Jungstar is young, wild and Hysterical. Residents are Amsterdam’s biggest talents. Rogerseventytwo and the Walk. Together with them the musical direction is chosen.
Marketing & Communication. After all the music business is great, but there is only a really select group of people how can make enough money to build a further upon. The coming years will be used to set up a different business next to the event promoting and production work. My goal is to use all the ideas and knowledge which have come to me in the last couple of years and use it businesslike. BUT FIRST OF ALL. WE HAVE TO PARTY!!
