Shifty is a band born from the punk rock ashes of the bands and friends from the past. Raised in Nashville, Tenn. I moved to Virginia Beach after a week long stay during college spring break. Needless to say I'm still on spring break! I started a punk rock band called "Elvis From Hell" which had some pretty decent notice in the southeast college bar circuit. It was punk rock with a touch of southern roots. During all this my other gig was being a DJ at a couple of Va. Beach bars, and my appreciation for Rockabilly developed. After E.F.H. dissolved I joined a couple of other original rock bands in the area happening at the time. I met some really cool musicians since then, (Don Campbell, Larry Atkinson, Brad Conroy, Dale Brown, Pete Soter, Walter Wright, Seth Wilder, Elwood Overcash, Dave Johnson, Chris Brydge) Opening for such acts as Reverend Horton Heat, The Cramps, Mike Ness, Supersuckers, Dash Rip Rock and the 96X Fest, we also headline our own local and regional shows, and we always have a good time, and isn't that what its all about? We are currently in the process of recording with the new players and new songs, so keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully we will be playing a sweaty, smokey, stinky stage at a local dive near you.
