Music for me always starts with Led Zeppelin. As far as other classic rock goes, I'm into The Doors, Rolling Stones, The Who, Cream, CCR, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Bob Dylan, The Kinks, The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, and the prototypical rock band, AC/DC. As far as new rock is concerned, I like a lot of stuff most people probably haven't heard. Of course as far as mainstream goes I'm usually rocking to STP, Oasis, Incubus, Coldplay, Black Crowes, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Jet, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, The Strokes, Radiohead, etc... Some more lesser names include White Stripes, Wilco, Spoon, The Shins, The Kaiser Chiefs, Hot Hot Heat, Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, Soundtrack of Our Lives, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Liars, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, etc... I'm into some rap but usually the guys who actually have talent like Outkast, NAS, Jay-Z, Mos Def, Common, Eminem, Biggie, Taleb Kweli, The Roots, Rakim, and Kanye. I'm not a fan at all of new country but I definitely can listen to the old school like Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Sr., Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, etc... I have really went through some techno spurts as well. Everything else I can probably tolerate to an extent. I could probably talk to you for hours about who is better than who and who sucks so that's always a good conversation piece for me.
Number 1 for a while has always been Fight Club. But there are a ton of other favorites. Memento, The Usual Suspects, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, O'Brother Where Art Thou, Scarface, Goodfellas, Casino, Rounders, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, American History X, American Beauty, Donnie Darko, Scent of a Woman, Dog Day Afternoon, Pulp Fiction, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Traffic, and of course the Godfather trilogy come to mind. Also love comedies (who doesn't). Office Space, Dumb and Dumber, Anchorman, Napoleon Dynamite, Old School, 40 year old Virgin, Caddyshack, Animal House, Wedding Crashers, American Pie, Half Baked, Super Troopers, South Park, etc... I can be a sucker for chick flicks but the girl has got to be real cool. So by saying that, I can pretty much tolerate any movie I watch.
Usually don't watch too much TV since I don't get home until late. But I definitely watch 24, Lost, and Entourage on a regular basis. Sportscenter is an everyday ritual and yes I am like many others in that I can watch it over and over. The Chappelle Show, South Park, The Office, Sopranos, SNL, Letterman and Conan, any VH1 music tribute or top 100 list, Simpsons, 2 1/2 Men, Seinfeld, Friends, and Everybody Loves Raymond reruns, Jeopardy and Deal or No Deal also come to mind. I can probably watch any sporting event and also any poker tournament I see. That about covers it.
Any Hunter S. Thompson or Chuck Palahniuk book is usually a must read. Nowadays I usually don't get to read too much but when I do, it's usually about sports, music, or poker. Most of my reading is on the internet or magazines which is pretty much common with everyone. Just the world we live in these days.
