I am here for Friends

About Me

I love to laugh...I love music...I love my beautiful and talented daughter and my faithful friend and puppy, Ceilidh.I respect people who stand up for themselves and for others. I fight for the 'under dog' and am a hopeful optomist.*************************************************** **********I've always loved tall ships. I think a lot of my interest comes from all of the books I read when I was younger, like Kidnapped, Treasure Island and Moby Dick. I grew up in the mountains and didn't get to be near the ocean much, so it was a mystery to me. I was facinated by tall ships. One of my hobbies is genealogy. About 3 years ago I found some old family records and was able to trace them back to 1620 and I found out that my 9th and 10th great grandfathers were on the Mayflower and that my 10th great grandfather was the 11th signer of the Mayflower Compact. The Mayflower was a fairly famous ship, so I sort of got excited about the whole thing.*******************************************Signing the Mayflower Compact ***************I've had two dreams since I was a little girl...to sail on a tall ship and to visit Ireland and Scotland. The summer of 2005 I was able to volunteer on some tall ships during the Tall Ship Festival and had the opportunity to sail on the ships. Amazing! I'll never forget it.The other dream? Well, that's being planned for the very near future...a trip to Ireland. I'm of Irish heritage and although I'm an American and proud to be called that, I'm also proud of my Irish ancestors and their conributions to Ireland as well as America.I'm glad you've come to visit. Write a line or two and say "HI".
