Afterbirth

About Me

Formed in Evesham by Dan Cooke with Loz Hancock during the summer of 2005. Afterbirth started out as a jammin stoner band. I had couple of songs ready to be fully structured, such as "The Fire from the Sun" and "The Afterbirth" which took full shape with Loz on the drums. Many of our songs were built like this with Cookie bringin in the riffs Loz and Cookie arranging them. After a short while Kev Barnard joined as a bassist. He had the foundation ideas and riffs for a song called "Switch On/ Switch Off". The music began to build and a couple of gigs played using 8 of our own songs then and Queens of the Stone Age covers. Kim then joined as a second lead guitarist in November 2005. Now making music as a four piece band from Evesham. Two more complete songs have been wrote. One wrote mainly by Kim with a . one main riff imput by Cookie. And the second wrote also mainly by Kim. The creative flow is now fully flowing and we've got a bag full of songs to pick from and are getting on a regular gig pattern. Arrangements are still very much based as before, as a band as whole. A full length album will come shortly. Are full song listing is as follows (a couple of songs have got temp names!!) The Fire From The Sun, Black Horizons, Thier Chains, Great Rays Of Black Shine, Switch On/Switch Off, Displays Of Power, The Afterbirth, On A Down, The Chiller, Into The Black, Whistles And Devilhorns, The Shining Lizard, Jamming In Smack Minor. Any gigs are welcome. Email [email protected] have transport. Please get in touch!
