I was born in 1981 right outside of Philadelphia, PA. I was brought up in an era of big hair and pop culture. At a very young age, I realized my talent for having an ear for music. Even though I moved around alot, in fact more than 15 times, I kept my music as close as my friends. While most kids were listening to Bon Jovi and Duran Duran, I listened to what most would call a strange mix of modern rap, R&B, Old School Hip Hop, and Classic Funk. Artists such as Arrested Development, Sugar Hill Gang, LL Cool J, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder were the norm. I have a musical ear and unique taste in sounds that manifested into more, the next thing you know in 1998 I purchased my first set of mixing equipment and was given gigs by a disk jockey company. Although still very young to the Music business, I began learning the basics of putting together rhythms and customizing sounds that were never heard before. And then, on a random night out, I ended up going with a friend to a local recording studio. It was during this chance encounter that I had a moment of clarity. Seeing the work that it takes to become a producer; I knew from that very moment thats what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. On a mission to get to the next level, I started learning the basics of creating beats. With no money to buy all the equipment I needed I turned to illegal means to get it. I was so driven at the time, I would have done anything to get started. After a short time when I was led astray from home and my music I realized theres more important things in life. Never looking back, I rebounded back on my quest to let my inner musician shine. Working countless hours and struggling to get back on my feet financially, I didnt want to let time slip by. With my past behind me, owning a condo, set up my studio, purchased the right equipment, and changed my frame of mind, I was ready to let my music do the talking. For four years straight, every spare moment has been devoted to the music. Looking back on the mistakes I made , I realized how stupid I had been. I knew this time what I had to do to start up Grand Productions the right way with Hard work and besides family, music is all that mattered. And with practice and time came perfection. Slowly as I began to acquire and learn the skills of the trade, I was ready to break loose. With the start of Grand Productions, the vehicle through which I can let my creativity flow. I want the world to know who Chris Arnold was Through Grand Productions I have since created a growing team to help spread the music and help local/distant artists grow. Its just a matter of time before I am given a chance and receive a Publishing/Independent Record deal. So in the end, it does seem as if time is on Chris Arnolds side, as I wait for the right opportunity to blow onto the scene with unique beats and rhythms. And a sound that is undeniably grand
