Tebby W.T. Ramasike, South African-born professional actor, dancer, choreographer, dance teacher, ramp & photographic model. Currently he works as a choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. He came to Europe in 1995 to live and work in The Netherlands and internationally, after working professionally in several theatre companies, model agencies and dance companies in South Africa and abroad.
In 1999, after establishing himself as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in Europe, he started TeBogO dance ensemble (TBO), which has since its inauguration has performed extensively in Europe and abroad, in countries such as Japan, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Poland and Luxembourg, to mention but a few.
He became a member World Dance Alliance –Europe (WDA) in 2002 and UNESCO’s International Dance Council (CID) in 2005.
Amongst his many choreographic and dance achievements, in 2004 he achieved an MA degree in Choreography from the Dance Unlimited Programme in The Netherlands, his research is based on “The spiritual body as a tool of communication in a global society – which has its focus on an artistic venture into developing ‘new’ cultural meanings by a cross-pollination of dance idioms and semioticsâ€.
In 2007 he was invited to give a lecture based on his research on a cross-pollination of dance idioms, at the African Contemporary Art symposium, at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.
In 2008 he has ben invited to write articles based on his research work by the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands.
As a dance teacher he has taught both nationally and internationally, in countries like Japan, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, USA, South Africa.
He has collaborated with several choreographers, stage & fashion designers, multimedia artists, performance artists and musicians in his choreographic works.
