MyGen Profile GeneratorI have been singing as far back as I can remember... I have always been surrounded by music, musicians and artists-starting with my own parents and their band as a young child. A good friend of mine gave me some accoustic guitar on tape and asked that I write some lyrics. After some procrastination and a lot of playing around the (recorded) results are the two songs with Mike Cimino. I was also part of a casual collaboration with a few friends, (their band name seemed to change with each performance, ha ha), which afforded me the opportunity to perform some shows in San Diego and Orange County, CA, which was such a blast... I sang some of their originals, a couple Zappa covers for fun and my most favorite cover, a Jazz song originally written by Lambert, Hendricks, Ross and Gray, entitled "Twisted". I first heard this song covered by Joni Mitchell (my all time idol!!) on her album Court and Spark. An amazing song which jokingly spoke about the writer's so-called genius, craziness and her therapist's opinion of it. I really enjoyed that song and related to it (check it out!). Later, I wrote lyrics for a couple of Tony Browning's songs, and he put music to an original of mine, A Little Space, originally written as a jazz tune, which I may re-record in that format at some point.Since joining myspace I met lots of cool musicians who re-inspired me. Also a series of other things seemed to be pushing me to return to my creative heart by singing again, and possibly venturing into modeling...so, I felt brave enough one day to post these recordings and photos to see if any interest or opportunities arise - I decided to "nudge fate" a little bit...hence the name of my would be band. I am open to just about ANYTHING! My musical background and taste is incredibly diverse, and I have a very flexible styling of singing. My preferences are jazzy, bluesy and folksy type stuff, but I would LOVE to play with more ethereal, abstract-type vocals in the eletronica genre.
