Great Snakes! The Abominable Snowman!

About Me

**DIGEST** (for those people who can't be arsed to read the whole thing, and in fairness why on earth should you?)Was doing the acting thing, got ill, stayed ill, continued to be ill, remain ill. Am now bored of it, but it shows no signs of going away just yet. It's not even like I've got arms falling off, or a terrible rash, or chronic halitosis, I'm just really reeeeally knackered and dizzy the whole time. Which is, well, dull. At the moment I'm spending far too much time watching baseball, which for some reason I've never fully understood myself, I love. Questions / comments / mindless derision all welcome, on a postcard or otherwise.**THE RAMBLING VERSION** (woo.)

OK, so this might as well be updated. I WAS spending this year on a fantastic course in structured declamation and the wearing of tights on a professional basis (aka 'Classical Acting', but don't believe a word of it), until my evidently useless body decided it couldn't be arsed one morning and I was reduced to spending my life doing nothing in my room for the foreseeable future, with something that assorted medical minds tell me to refer to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. ME, for those down on medical euphamisms. So the world of theatre's gain is my loss, for this year at least. Cross fingers and think positive thoughts please for a triumphant return to iambic pentameter and non-recreational make-up sometime around January 2008.
When I get bored, which, hey, is not exactly infrequent these days, I get my shits and/or giggles trying (poorly) to learn the guitar, messing with my cats' heads, shouting at men who kick, throw and swat assorted sized balls thousands of miles away through the magic of television, dealing books about motor racing on ebay and losing an ongoing battle to grow facial hair between 'tache and beard-line. When all that loses its shine I write drivel on myspace.
****
They tell me this is where the cool kids of the cyber community hang out. like that's not a contradiction in terms. mostly I'm here for the free music. I may be the only member of myspace to moonlight as a giant furry camel for the amusement of rugby fans... I'm happy with the fact that I waved goodbye to my soul long ago. Once I was at Rose Bruford, but that didn't work out, so I went to Reading and did nothing for three years. Now I'm training to act at Central in London at the moment, do bits of directing too, but mostly I spend my time being long-winded. Contarary to the spirit of which, I have nothing more to add.

My Interests

Theatre, Sports (pretty much any, save gymnastics and anything with horses or ice.), I'm a proper baseball nut these days. Play a bit of tennis and golf. Don't read as much as I should. Love music, don't really play anything but if I stay ill for long enough I'll get the guitar and the harmonica down like a pro. At this stage i can play either without being embarassed, as long as no-one else's in the room, which counts as progress.

I'd like to meet:

People who, even at age 5, wanted Wile E Coyote to get Roadrunner.

You are Benedick from Much Ado About Nothing! Ah,
smart as a whip and yet somehow cluelessly
naive. You are attracted to ballsy women who
know their way around a quip. Touche!

a (real) shakespearean quiz
brought to you by Quizilla

man I was bored... What Kind of Squirrel Are You? [Updated Version]
You are a SNEAKY Squirrel. Probably the most deadly of them all, these little demons do the most drastic things just to get what they want. Some say they are all plotting world domintaion together. Let's hope your kind doesn't succeed...
Take this quiz !

Draw a pig! Find out who you really are! What dark wizardry is this? Find out!

Music:

At the moment my favouites are the Seeger Sessions album by Bruce Springsteen, and trawling the internet in search of amusing mash-ups. James Hyman's albums of tarantino and Bond music are phenomenal.* To bring out a smile: to include DJ Yoda, Polyphonic Spree, soundtracks from Scrubs, High Fidelity and Amelie, Old Big Band/Swing numbers, vile kitschy 80s pop tunes (cf Lauper, Starship, Jackson, Duran, Men at Work).
* To bring out a hum: to include the Cure, REM, the Strokes, the Smiths, the eels, Tom Petty, Billy Joel, the Kinks, Johnny Cash, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
* To bring out a dance (woo lordy): to include Moby, Mylo, Chemical Brothers, Kanye, Pulp, DJ Format and many of the above.
* All of the above: basically K-os. I love K-os.

Movies:

Motorcycle Diaries, Forest Gump, Lawrence of Arabia, Amores Perros, On the Waterfront, the Hudsucker Proxy, Rushmore, Life Aquatic, Huckabees... Can't wait for Babel and Venus.

Television:

Love Weeds, which I think is genius. Frasier, Scrubs, Arrested Development, Spaced, My Name is Earl, Family Guy, Simpsons, Buzzcocks / Have I Got News, Late night US sports. In fact most kinds of sport. Nothing with hidden cameras or that could ever be described as 'reality tv'.

Ooh, I'm very excited they're doing a new This Life episode. That was a fantastic show.Which Scrubs character are you?

You are...Dr. Cox
Rebel, thy name is YOU! You don't do things by the rules -- at all -- and you're damn proud of it, despite the fact that such a philosophy tends to bite you in the ass more often than you like. Your brusque and sarcastic manner puts off most around you, but your high standards elicit nothing but respect. It's possible that your rough exterior is a cover to deeper, more vulnerable feelings inside. Only you know for sure.

Books:

Short ones. Poetry. Plays. Pamphlets... But many of them.

Heroes:

Only minature.except
