Showdem was formed when Lsj and Fros-d had a vision to bring together a strong team of artist, to create an original and electrifying sound, which the world of music hasn’t seen or heard before. The unit, also known as Triple S (Showdem Setting Standards) is a group of gifted young people, with a passion for music and a goal to make their mark in music history.
To begin with Lsj and Fros-d experimented by making different instrumentals to find their own sound. After reaching a satisfying level, they began recruiting artist to compliment their music.
First Lsj noticed K-Man’s unique style of rapping, when he heard him battling in the school playground. After a few persuasive discussions, K-Man joined the showdem team, yet Showdem’s thirst for talent wasn’t quenched.
Lsj and Fros-d, coming from a church background were exposed to many gifted singers Sunday after Sunday however; there was one particular girl who possessed a dynamic, raw talent at the tender age of 12. Lsj and Fros-d both agreed that Leanne would be an asset to Showdem, so Fros- d approached Leanne with the idea and she willing became a member of the team.
The third member to join Showdem was Dexstar Don. He had a confident attitude to go with his evident talent. They were attracted to his energy and charisma and after numerous meetings at studio sessions; he agreed to become a member of the team.
The fourth and final member was Todla. Lsj stumbled across his myspace, took a liking to his talent, and addressed Fros-d about it, not knowing that Fros-d already had a friendship with Todla. He was given a trail beat to record over, successful, he became a member of Showdem.
Showdem’s first major production was ‘S-Series’. It was broadcasted on U channel for two weeks in September 2006. It was re-tracked due it’s stereotypical content.
Now, a year later, Showdem is back bigger, better, and refined with the three remaining artist; K-Man, Todla and Leanne. They’re about to release their latest single ‘Hands Up’ featuring the drummer/rapper, Breakbeat from the UKSP family.
Their plan is to continue to create ground breaking music that will have a forceful impact on the music industry. Their debut mix CD, ‘It’s about our time vol.1’ will be available August 27th 2007.
