ICED EARTH CONFIRMED FOR CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008
American power metallers ICED EARTH have been confirmed for CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008, set to take place on May 1-3 at The Pearl Room in Mokena, Illinois. This will be ICED EARTH's very first performance since the return of vocalist MATT BARLOW.
ICED EARTH founder Jon Schaffer had the following comments about their upcoming performance at the Powerfest: "A big hello goes out to all of our friends in Chi-town! I'm very happy to announce that Iced Earth will be playing our first gig of '08 and our first gig with Matt Barlow back behind the mic at the Chicago Powerfest. It's an honor and a privilege that our first show re-united with Matt is in Chicago. This was the first city to really embrace Iced Earth back in 1997 when we started our U.S. "campaign." It was also the passion of our Chicago fan base that was a big reason for the band moving out of Florida and into the Midwest. We LOVE Chicago, we have a lot of friends there and many great memories. It's only fitting that we kick off the next chapter in the city that's always been so important to Iced Earth and our history. This very special night will be a celebration of our past as well as a celebration of a bold and bright future for Iced Earth and our fans. We look forward to seeing you all there! It's going to be something special, guaranteed!"
Festival organizers, CRJ Productions, also commented: "After months of going after Iced Earth, we're so ecstatic to finally make this announcement. TESTAMENT CONFIRMED FOR CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008
Thrash legends TESTAMENT have just been confirmed for Chicago Powerfest, set to take place on May 1-3 at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. Testament, who's current lineup includes original members Chuck Billy, Alex Skolnick, Eric Peterson, and Greg Christian along with recently recruited Paul Bostaph, will also be performing in support of their new album, "The Formation of Damnation", due for release in North America on April 29, 2008.
Commented festival organizers, CRJ Productions: "The news came just in time for Christmas, and made the holidays that much better for us considering how long we've been trying to make this happen! It's been several years since the Legion has pummeled a Chicago area venue and we're all very hungry to see them do it once again! Their last Chicago area headlining performance was in 1999...although, it's been much longer since they've played here with Alex Skolnick, so this should give Midwest fans something to get really excited about."

Norway's SUSPERIA, Sweden's PERSUADER, and Poland's HORRORSCOPE have been booked for slots on CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008 (May 1-3), but need help financing the airfare for their trip to Chicago. There are just enough sponsorship packages available to cover those expenses & if enough sponsors come forward, the bands will be confirmed.

The 6th annual metal festival will take place on Friday/Saturday, May 2nd & 3rd, at The Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. There will also be an official Powerfest "kick-off" show on the Thursday night prior (May 1st), featuring ENSIFERUM, TURISAS, TYR and ELUVEITIE, , who will be making a stop along their PAGANFEST tour.
Also, both DARKANE & SUIDAKRA are still currently available for sponsorship as part of the Powerfest's Sponsor/VIP program...although, only a limited number of packages remain per band.

CHICAGO POWERFEST 2008 WELCOMES PAGANFEST!!
CRJ Productions, in conjunction with FM Entertainment, are very pleased to welcome the PAGANFEST tour, featuring ENSIFERUM, TURISAS, TYR and ELUVEITIE, as the first annual festival “kick-off party,†Thursday, May 1st.
