About Me

New blog/site at Riadsala.co.uk

I'm 26, currently working on a Phd and in my spare time i play bass around Edinburgh. I've also started playing my Warr Guitar - after about three years of trying to learn how to play it I think I'm finally ready to try and rock out. Or fall on my face trying. :)

Projects I'm currently involved with

Alistair Kilgour and Alasdair Clarke : Ali K plays acoustic guitar and sings, I join in on my fretless bass. Much fun is had by all. Although sadly Ali's south of the border most the time these days. The Als and the Pussycats: Playing as a duo was so much fun we thought we'd put a little band together. Swap acoustic guitar for electric, fretless bass for fretted, and add drums, fiddle, and backing vocals. :) The Modern Blues : Formed from the ashes of E/T/C (as T left to seek fame and fortune in London.Afro Scot Beat : An interesting mix of some folk, african and scottish music. It's really Benny's pet project, i just play the bass parts and have little creative input. Not much is happening on this front, but I think Benny's still working away.Alasdair and Matt's Secret Sideproject: One day, one day, we will unleash some music and people will be amazed. Maybe. First we need a singer, drummer, and some songs. Or give up and just hit the open mic circuit with some instrumentals :) But anyway, hopefully it will be warr guitar-tastic.And for anybody who's interest in what a warr guitar is, here's a picture of my two main instruments:
See my own little site for more music if you're interested. Thank you.
