About Me

News: The CD, LIVE AT THE GREEN MILL, recorded at the Green Mill Lounge in Chicago, in June, 2007, is available below just by clicking on the link. The group that night included Jonathan Paul on bass, Grazyna Auguscik on vocals, myself on piano, Brian Gephart on saxaphone, Henry Johnson on guitar, Charles Heath on drums, and Joe Rendón on percussion. Many of the photos above are from that night. Also available is the solo piano CD, RETRATOS.
NOTE: The Retratos CD is running low at CD Baby (I think they have 2 or 3 left). They will be restocked in the near future, but the best thing to do if you want the CD is to go to the itunes store and put " Bob Long Retratos" in the search engine. You can download the whole CD and the artwork for under $10.
And also available again is The Bob Long Trio CD, STRAIGHT ROADS, released in 2003 on Cellar Records. This is a straight ahead trio with Dave Marr on bass and Tim Davis on drums, and myself on Fender Rhodes and B3. Just email Todd Joos at president@cellarrecords and he can set you up.
Thanks for supporting the music!
One note on the gallery above. Besides pictures of the band and myself there are a series of photographs of my time in Madrid as well images of the work of some of my favorite artists that are in the public domain. They include works by (in order) Maruja Mallo, Oscar Domínguez, Salvador Dalí (from MOMA's website), and photographs by and of photographer Tina Modotti.
About the tunes previewed here:
"El Botellón de los Restos" is from the LIVE AT THE GREEN MILL CD recorded in 2007. "Straight" and "Arima" are all from the Bob Long Trio Cd, STRAIGHT RHODES
"Killer Clowns" is from the Gephart Long Quartet CD CORNERS (http:www.glqjazz/birchtreerecords.html)
"The Stove in the Back" is a duo with Brian Gephart from the upcoming CD, DUOS; and "La Madrugada" is from the solo CD RETRATOS
