About Me

The award winning Heali’i 's Polynesian Revue floorshow includes the rhythmic sounds of drummers and musicians, graceful island vahine, handsome tane performers, fire-knife dance specialist, and talented keiki soloist. The enthusiastic dancers show case songs from Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, Fiji and New Zealand.
The halau(dance group) competes throughout the West Coast at Tahiti Fete of San Jose and Hilo, La Fete Internationale de la Polynesie Francise of Las Vegas, Heiva I Reno, Ia Orana of Del Mar where Heali’i made top soloist.
For the past 10 years her revue has performed at the summer luaus at Campland on the Bay, performed at the LA Ho’olaule’a, 30 years for the Hui O Hawaii of San Diego, the Pacific Islander Festival since it started and all over Southern California for many military functions.
About Kumu:
Kumu Kathy Gore-Stanley started dancing professionally at four years old in Honolulu for the Lucky Luck's Show, Johnny Pi’ilani Watkins(her first instructor), Ed Kenney, Marlene Sai, Ma'iki Ai'u(specialized in Olapa) and Nona Beamer(encouraged Kathy to start choreographing her own routines) . During this same time, Elaine Frisby(Mrs. Don Over) who headed up the Puka Puka Ote’a group at the Queen’s Surf was Kathy’s Tahitian Ra’atira. She performed all over the United States acting as ambassador for the Hawaiian Islands and for two summers she was the youngest member of Guy Lombardo's "Paradise Island" at Jones Beach in New York. She was also chosen by the Kennedy’s to perform for their private family function. When Kathy was a teenager, the US Navy transferred the Gore Family to San Diego where Kathy started giving hula lessons at the Hui O Hawaii of San Diego, 15 years danced at Bali Hai, Vacation Village and the Hanalei Hotel.
Through the devotion and unconditional love of her parents, Jim and Ethel Gore her halau started in 1967. Her loving family: Mikey (who has been her lead drummer/ musician throughout), Jimmy (Musician) & Yvonne (25 years of performance), Tricia (support and organizer), all her nieces and nephews, Heali'i's husband Eddie, children Edieann Heali’i(her alaka’i), James and Anthony have helped this group flourish. Aunty Kathy has been blessed with so many haumana who have returned with their children to carry on the love of dance. Her life has come full circle. Akua has blessed her with such a special Ohana. In March of 2008, my daughter was one of the Miss Aloha Hula Contestants at the Merrie Monarch. We are so honored that Aunty Sissy Kaio took her under her wing and asked her to represent Halau O Lilinoe.
