I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hello friends. I won't be on the internet much in the coming weeks. Visit my website David T. Connolly Outdoors.
Failed again to reach the summit but conditions were rather challenging so I don't feel bad. I did set a new personal record for sleeping at altitude. Much more to come.
I made it to the top of Wheeler Peak Oct. 8, 2008 9:30 PM. It's the highest point in New Mexico at 13,161 feet above sea-level.
..
I reached the summit of Guadalupe Peak April 2, 2008 11:45 MST. I've posted pics, video and a trail report of my bus/bicycle/foot journey to the mountaintop at www.davidtconnolly.com
The American Matterhorn.
..
Here are some songs I wrote and recorded as a solo project. I'm playing every instrument on these songs except clarinet which was played by Jim Phegley. Click the titles to download the songs.
"Southwest Serenade".
"Love Song".
"Kanake's Theme".
Of course there's no charge for these tunes and if you want to burn them and give them to your friends that's fine. Also screw the RIAA!
Here's a song I wrote last week then recorded the next day. Some friends (Fred - guitar, Chris - bass, Rodger - keyboard) helped me record it in our living room. "3 times a loser".
Here's another from the living room series of recordings. Fred Williamson - engineering and background vocals, Chris Kruse - bass. "Message To Memphis".

Human urges

I think it started this year. People began writing their names and little messages with Sharpie permanent markers on rocks at the summits of mountaintops. And the public at large was rightfully incens...

Sure, treat us like we’re brain dead idiots!

Okay, this is going to be an exercise in futility but here goes. First a little background: I was in Mississippi the night Katrina came roaring through. The next day all the Exxon stations were going ...

Which is better?

Should we call ourselves Team Handy Cap or Survivor Squad? Voting has not be enabled but if I take off my shoes I should be able to tabulate the votes. Is tabulate a fancy word for "count?"

Sarah Palins Beliefs

She said at the Assembly of God church back in June. [Palin] talked about U.S. troops in Iraq, and she put it this way: "Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that's from God." Even som...

Tobacco Is Evil

I know I'll always be a tobacco addict. And my buddy John, who is kind enough to rent me a room in his home, smokes cigarettes, which is handy for me when I need an excuse to fall off the wagon (in th...

What is wrong with people?

I guess it's only my imagination. Or maybe the last two years has changed me in some way? But it seems like I'm either witnessing more people acting like total jerks with absolutely no sense of perso...
