Vijay Singh, affectionately known as the Sweetalker Sleepwalker is a personality who can easily be divided into several parts. Producing, writing and directing radical television content for the upfront global music channel,has brought him an acute sense of awareness of the short attention span generation and the extensive reach of youth culture. Under his belt are productions such as MTV Urban Beats, Double Trouble and Screen. These days he straddles projects with The Moving Visuals Company, a leading Asian TV production house.Having written produced and manufactured his very own bold and indiependent culture fanzine, Bigot, from the underbelly of Singapore’s underground music scene in the early 90s at the age of 16, his words have flowed endlessly. He has also contributed writings for music magazine Big O. In recent times he has put words into the mouth of MTV VJ talent such as Denise Keller and Utt.MC-ing with the most expansive and open-ended of techniques, MC Sweetalker Sleepwalker is also the usual unusual suspect in the Singapore electronic music/club arena. Over the years MC Sweetalker Sleepwalker has provided live vocal accompaniment to internationally renowned DJs such as Kid Loco (FRA), The Herbaliser (UK),Spiritual South (UK) and Mad Mats (SWE). He has also performed "LIVE" at Zouk Club in Singapore in an exclusive Live and Wired electronic music showcase and has hosted and MC-ed at club sets during WOMAD (World of Music and Dance) 2002 and 2003 in Singapore alongside a diverse array of world music artists.With his five fingers firmly grasping any microphone, he has become the choice to voice events for Street Style Awards, Nike, Heineken, Motorolla and other established brands that seek to add some unexpected vibrance to their events.Under the musical umbrella, he creates music of various forms and structures,having dabbled with deep visceral vibrations in the late 90’s this man is no stranger to playing with changes.These days the energy that lives in his musical productions embrace the beauty and spirit is large, kaleidoscopic and tropical (use comments of Hullabaloo to explain), a reflection of the great vibrations that resonate from the pulsing city of Singapore.In 2006 he produced a recording with accomplished UK producer/DJ Spiritual South. The track entitled Hullabaloo got picked up by a Swedish label infamous for its adventurous music releases, Raw Fusion Records. Since Hullabaloo’s release many international DJ’s have been awakened by the tenacity of the production.Besides performing and producing as an individual, he creates music for the inventive genre defying indiependent band, Phorous.
