Black Rain, INC.â„¢

Black Rain, INC is a native of southeastern USA, hailing from Fayetteville, North Carolina. Born "Jarell Waddell" on October 6th, 1987, he started creating musical compositions at the age of 11 with nothing but a tape recorder, a saxophone, a Casio Keyboard, and MTV's Music Generator for the PC. He did not have an alias for music then, but eventually he would adopt the name "Rain" to help listeners recognize the unique sound that became characteristic of his beats. After learning that "Rain" was already taken by another local artist, he decided to add "Black" to his moniker, thereby tying in the fact that he was black and the other artist was not.Waddell soon began making music for young local acts such as D-Clip, Burna, RedBone, Young B, Pac Man, and Haze. After some minor success he realized that there was potential in his music and that one day it could become his career. He changed the name to "Black Rain, INC"--He was inspired by a line from a Jay-Z song which read, 'I'm not a businessman, I'm a BUSINESS, MAN!'-- and the name stuck!Today Black Rain, INC is a Junior at Fayetteville State University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Aerospace Studies. He is in the United States Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, INC.
