About Me

***ATTENTION: My computer is DEAD DEAD and I can't access MySpace from work. Chances are, it'll take me a while to respond to you if you write to me. Thanks.**
There's not too much to know, I guess. People always tell me that I remind them of someone they met in high school, and I think that about sums me up: I'm as generic as they come. I like convention and structure. I'll seek out something painful just so I can learn from it. I need to understand things in order to agree with them. I doubt I'll ever be able to do only one thing for the rest of my life. So, dealing with that is sorta how I get by. That's it.
DISCLAIMER: I used to have Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" (the good version) play on my profile. As it turns out, I generally think the music on people's profiles is utterly annoying, so I took her off. If this bothers you, feel free to sing "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell (the good version) to yourself as you peruse my life's details. Thank you. My Interests

Games (Board, Video, Head, etc.), Movies, Reading/Writing, Math, Teaching, Being a Decent Person and Role Model.

I'd like to meet:

Mostly, on MySpace, I'd like to meet people that I've already met before and have either lost touch or never really got to know them to begin with.

Music:

I like the usual stuff. When I'm in a "Look, I can be cool" mood, I like My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Interpol, The Killers, Muse, Franz Ferdinand. I've always been a fan of really complicated classical music, mostly the russians. I think Tchaikovsky is an amazing composer, and Shostakovich is right up there with him. When I happen to feel like a sad little boy, I turn to Rilo Kiley, Joni Mitchell, Tori Amos and people of the sort. I think it's a good idea to know which song you'd commit suicide to, even if you're not at all interested in committing suicide (and I'm not)...but since you're curious now, mine would be "Non, Je ne Regrette Rien" by Edith Piaf. I hate Indie Rock-n-Rollers; they ruin any good concert-going experience.

Movies:

Amadeus, Dogville, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Clue, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hero, Rope, Sunset Boulevard, All About Eve, Witness for the Prosecution...I could go on and on and on.

Television:

The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, the Muppet Show, Arrested Development, Lost. King of the Hill, Drawn Together, Project Runway. All of which I have to get on Netflix because I don't watch TV. I need to watch what I want to watch when I want to watch it, dammit.

Books:

The Count of Monte Cristo (Unabridged), The Godfather, Bel Canto, The Marathon Man...I'm always on the lookout for something insightful. Got a suggestion?

Heroes:

Newton and Leibniz: the creators of the single greatest invention in the history of mankind.

Gauss and pretty much any of the Bernoullis.
