I am here for Friends

About Me

Well, I am an open book. But, a cameleon too. These days I prefer a night in to a night out - I love having a home cooked dinner and watching a good TV show with my hubby and our animals on a Friday night - where I used to be annoyed by anyone remotely resembling that! The party girl has most definitely retired her party shoes. :) I think we all grow up - hopefully - sooner or later. I was a little late - but got here nonetheless! I met my husband in 2003 (I think) when he had just moved to LA through a mutual friend and have been with him ever since. He's made me a better person and I hope to believe I have had a little influence in a good way with his life! :) I pulled up the anchor in OC December of 2006 after being dowen there for 15+ years and we are now in the Pacific Palisades are of LA. I love it here and love being up in LA. I have had a career change - I'm not working with the beer industry any longer - went back and got my degree in Interior Design and have my own business doing just that - and I love it! I am now expecting my first kidlets (yes, two) sometime early in July. John and I are having a boy and a girl and are totally excited! So, other than that, pretty much anyone who knows me can tell you something good (I hope!) and that I love life and I love friends and family.

My Interests

Studying Interior Design and Architecture at UCLA currently, movies, I LOVE the tube, collecting books, my kitties and Scoutie - our black lab, seeing bands play, travelling, shopping, spending time with my husband, family & friends, eating good food, cooking good food, laughing as much as possible, listening to my husband on the radio, drawing, painting, collecting Mexican Folk Art, The Hugh Carpenter weeks with the Napa gang, art history, I am learning how to sew and knit, my kiddos (well not MINE - but the kiddos in my life - the little angels- and the ones I have on the way in my tummy- Watching basketball & football, any forensic show - Law & Order - all of them are awesome, I want to learn to be a barrista, and would like to speak another language or two, I used to be able speak Spanish fairly well, but I haven't spoken it, so I am very rusty although thanks to Alba - I am back speaking it a lot. I am so excited about my twins which are due in July! I cannot wait ot be a mom! I love doing design - I feel like it's a natural fit for me. I love living back up in LA - where we are in up in the hills - and I love it here! I also am able to be with my nephews and family a lot being up in the area. I am sure I'll come across something that is blaringly obvious that I will add in as I go. This is by no means my master piece!

Music:

Muse, Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, the Killers, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Then the other side of the coin: Diana Krall, Norah Jones. I adore Christmas Music :), and classic tunes - like "cocktail tunes"

Television:

I love TV - I love Tivo. I like all the standards - Despereate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, the Office, Friday Night Lights, Weeds, Californication, Nip/Tuck, Project Runway, Top Design, Top Chef, Top Whatever, Obnoxious reality TV reminds me that my family is normal and I am happy.. :-) I cannot help it - I am a total voyeur. I was a Dog the Bounty Hounter fan, and he grated on my very last nerve - I like sports - football and basketball, my crappy tv: The Hills, the Kardashians, Real Wives of the OC - which I think all of them have to be the bottom of the barrel - hell, I lived there for 17 years! Those women are not pretty, not rich (maybe nouveau riche?), not classy, not anything, so I get mad for an hour everytime I watch it,k but I always do watch it, oh there's more I am just out of ideas.

Books:

I am a book addict - I have a huge library - but of big pretty design and art books. :-) I do like to read, but being in school - who has time for it???

Heroes:

My Husband, John, my family and friends - they are all amazing people. Those people who do these selfless things and then don't call attention to themselves after the fact. (SO not Tom Cruise or any politician!)
