Rachel Lillian is an aspiring 23-year-old San Francisco singer/songwriter with a powerful voice inspired by the likes of Mariah Carey and Carrie Underwood and an eclectic lyrical talent that will remind you of the best hits from John Mayer, Norah Jones and new female sensation Colbie Callait. With lyrics such as "gonna find my own wings and fly" in her latest song titled "Life Goes On," Rachel's smooth and yet powerful vocal talent moves you through her music. In a year of mechanical and conventional lyrics, Rachel's talent is very refreshing.
Rachel began singing for fun at 6 years old. Until the age of 13, most of Rachel's performing took place in front of a mirror or in the shower. It was at that age that Rachel discovered Musical Theatre and began to perform alongside her peers. Upon connecting with Becky Jones, an established singer/voice teacher, Rachel quickly discovered her more-than-average talent.
At the age of 14, Rachel received her first accolades for being chosen to sing the National Anthem at one of the three largest games of the year for the San Francisco Giants. "By far, that has been the proudest moment of my singing career to have been given the opportunity to share my passion at such a young age with thousands of people," she says.
Rachel majored in Musical Theatre at the University of California, Irvine, but returned home to focus on other areas of study.
Meanwhile, Rachel supported the youth organization, The Boys and Girls Club, performing at their annual fundraiser as well as recording a demo with piano player, James Campbell. "It was a fun project and a chance to get my feet wet in a studio," she says. Becoming more than just fun, Rachel's passion for singing took rise and she knew it was meant to be.
As her career begins to flourish, Rachel has realized the possibilities that come with the benefit of time and is sure to catch the ear of everyone who hears her music.
