About Me

Born in 78, played violin for a bit, sang in choirs, acted in plays, played in orchestras, did the perfect child bit, DJed for a bit, got into messing around with synths/tape machines, FX etc which was way more fun than DJing, jacked in the DJing, got a sampler, made house, made odd-beat, made drum & bass, released various drum & bass tunes between 99 and 2004ish on labels such as Moving Shadow, Beta Recordings, Renegade Hardware, Frequency (sister label to Ram), got into making tweaked out music which was way more fun than drum & bass, jacked in making drum & bass, released an album of tweaked out music on Planet Mu (Pro Agonist, 2005), made a machine for improvising and performing tweaked out music in a manic gabaret style which was way more fun than making tweaked out music in a studio, jacked in making tweaked out music in a studio, recorded an album of entirely improvised and quite tweaked out music from all the gigs I did round Europe/The 'World' last year which is coming out in May on Planet Mu entitled 'Tim Exile's Nuisance Gabaret Lounge'.

Band Members: Tim Exile
Influences: Mu-Ziq, Aphex, V Snares, Future Sound of London, LFO, SHitmat, Chevron, Leafcutter John, Debussy, Franck, Stockhausen, Berio, Varese, Nirvana, Jamie Lidell, Basic Channel, Autechre, Jamiroquai, Dire Straits, my parents, my family, my violin, Miller Puckette, all the people at Native Instruments, Frog Pocket, Sasha, BT, John B, Ram Trilogy, Evol Intent, loads of oldskool stuff from old rave/pirate tapes, Squarepusher, the sound of the sea, trees, wind, birds etc, the Grahamaphone.
Sounds Like: Live: Gabaret, improvised jungle, techno, beatbox, sonic conjuring tricks with punk attitude. On record: The new album in May 2006 sounds like my live sets as it's taken from my live sets. Last year's album Pro Agonist is super-tweaked out electroacoustic jungle... a fair few have made obvious comparisons to AFX, Squarepusher, V Snares etc. Older singles from the Beta Recordings, Moving Shadow, Renegade Hardware era are slickly produced dnb. There's the odd techno release to bring out the other flavours.
Record Label: Planet Mu
Type of Label: Indie
