NATHAN HERMAN - DJ Courage - Your Regrets
Is a Producer/Engineer based in Brooklyn, New York, Originating from the Helen of the West Indies, Nathan was born and raised in St.Lucia, only moving to the US in 2002.
THE OLD DAYZ-TO PRESENT DAY
At the tender age of 14 Nathan was already showcasing his skills as a DJ…fast earning himself the tag of DJ courage the name very much represents the style that he became renowned for.
But what was it that set him apart from his counterparts? Always at the cutting edge of technology DJ Courage used a computer and virtual DJ software to mix tracks, not uncommon by today’s standards but at the time this was very much a new concept.
Forming a collective with a bunch of friends, MaddFarm Studios was born, creating beats and laying down bars for fun meant that his skills fast developed, as did his ear for sound.
By the age of 17 the move into sound production and engineering seemed a natural transition for Nathan and brings us to where we are today!
Staying ever true to his roots Nathan encourages artist and performers from his native St.Lucia and other west Indian countries to showcase there talents.
he can ordinarily be found at his Studio working countless hours recording and mixing down new tracks. Having formed new links across the globe (St.Lucia, Trinidad, Haiti, Germany, US & UK) and working with a continual stream of up and coming artists 2008 looks set to be his busiest year yet.
INSPIRATION:
Inspired by the sound of artists such as Boys II Men and Jagged Edge, Nate became intrigued by the mix of sounds he heard. Inspired by the clarity and arrangement and the smallest detail of the placement of instruments in the mix, Nate began to lay down his own beats, his fast and self taught progression to the standard he is at today is detrimental to the hard work put in over the years.
It is thru sheer determination, and Nathans insatiable passion and commitment to music that has seen him work hard to achieve his current status, and it can only be expected that this confident, creative and charismatic young man will further surpass himself in the years to come…it can only be onward and upward for Nathan and Maddfarm Studios.
Forget the Chinese New year, this is a MaddFarm New year…THE YEAR OF THE LION!!!
