About Me

Hi my name is Jess. I'm a junior in college, working toward a degree in Early Childhood Development. On June 10, 2005 I married a sailor. I knew nothing about military life. I'm figuring out it's hard being a military wife. Lots of people tell me they can't imagine being married at 19, but I couldn't imagine a life without Stephen in it. I am truely blessed; he is a wonderful man. I love ya Babe! I love my Daddy very much! Even though he is a big baby and complains because I didn't mention him on my page. In August 2007 we found out we are having our first baby in April 2008. Important Baby Update: Gracelynn was born on March 30th.

My Interests

I love reading, shopping, scrapbooking, photography, and gardening. I enjoy being with my friends. However, being 3,000 miles away from them, this can be hard. Mostly, I just like hanging out with Stephen. We love just curling up together and watching a good movie. We also enjoy riding our ATVs, when we get the chance. We love to camp, but don't really go very often. We love our church, Silverdale Baptist www.silverdalebaptist.com, and our church friends. We are involved in a couples bible study about finances, I am in a ladies group called Shared Lives, and Stephen bowls with a church league.

I'd like to meet:

Television:

I really like the home makeover shows. Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Trading Spaces, and While You Were Out are my favorites. Stephen and I also like Smallville and Heroes.

Books:

I love Nicolas Sparks. All of his books are great. Right now I am reading At First Sight, a sequel of True Believer. The Homefront Club and Chicken Soup for the Military Wife's Soul are great books and encorage me so much when I go through my "I hate the Navy!" stages. I am also reading The Five Love Languages, by Gary Chapman. He is a christian author and marriage counselor. This is a great book for learning how to communicate and show love to your spouse. I also love my pregnancy books especially Belly Laughs and Girlfriends Guide. They give a more humorous look to pregnancy.

Heroes:

GOD! He's everything. That pretty much says it all. My husband is my hero. He isn't my hero because he's in the military. I don't expect to be rescued Rapunzel style. As nice as it sounds, rescuing me 24/7 isn't his responsibility, although he will if he can. He's my hero because he loves me and respects me. He's my partner, my protector, my lover, and my friend. My mom is also my hero. She is my bestfriend. Yeah, she can be a little over protective, but she has always been there for me. My daddy tries to make everything better; even though usually he can't.
