My theory is quite simple. I am about 8 years behind my actual age. This has been the case since I was 8. I should also mention that I am a full time bassist. I have been playing electric bass since I was 14. As a career, about 12 years. I have played with quite a few musicians in the Detroit area as well as Flint and many other Michigan territories. For the last year my main gig has been backing up Bettye Lavette. It has been an amazing experience to play bass behind her. The gig requires quite a bit of travel and since I have joined the group I have had some amazing opportunities. We have played on the Conan Obrien show, the Tonight Show , the Lincoln Jazz Center and Austin City Limits as well as seeing a fair amount of North America, Western Europe and a brief stint in Japan and Africa. The gig is a combination of soul, R&B, blues, jazz and funk. I play different styles of music and enjoy all of them. I like things simple and I like to be challenged. Right now I'm focusing on revamping my playing with my down time and getting back into an intense practice schedule. We'll see how it goes...
