Cody McKibben!!

So what's the deal, did we get some cake? Yeah, we got a free cake.

About Me

I'm a recent college grad, a Sacramento entrepreneur, freelance web designer, and renegade writer! I build blogs for authors, coaches, professional speakers, and for small companies, and I write about leadership and personal development for college students at Thrilling Heroics.com . I also try my hardest to take the world by storm in whatever I do!

My Interests

I currently work as a freelance web designer. Specifically, I work primarily with XHTML, CSS, and some PHP to build clean, professional blogs for small business.I collaborate especially well with consultants interested in strengthening their personal brand, authors and writers who want to transition to a web 2.0 medium, and speakers and professional coaches looking to create an online community of raving fans.

I'd like to meet:

I graduated in 2006 from the California State University at Sacramento. I studied literature, religions, philosophy, history, and the arts, and earned my Bachelor's degree in Humanities & Religious Studies. At some undecided date in the future, after I've proven myself professionally for a few years, I would like to apply to the Stanford Graduate School of Business and study at the Center for Social Innovation.

Music:

Aside from what I do for my income, I have been involved as a VP of Marketing for the local Toastmasters public speaking club.I am the co-founder of Career MasterMinds in Sacramento, a peer mentoring group that meets weekly to discuss professional development and personal goal-setting.Additionally, I write regularly about Gen-Y leadership, personal development, productivity, personal finance, travel, and more at Thrilling Heroics.com

Movies:

I love travel and I believe that the best education comes through experiencing the world and interacting with the people in it. Some of my favorite destinations worldwide include London, Barcelona, San Diego, Rome, the Greek Isles, the Balearic Islands, Venice, Paris, Lucerne, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.I aim to be a vagabond throughout life and practice extended overseas travel, and a personal goal for 2008 is to spend several months living in Thailand and spending time focused on my personal growth.

Television:

I have very eclectic music tastes. Some of my more unique favorites include downtempo, trip-hop, and house. I enjoy The Crystal Method, Jack Johnson, Daft Punk, Mason Jennings, Zero 7, Massive Attack, G. Love & Special Sauce, The Beatles, Sting, The Rolling Stones, The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Collective Soul, Kings of Convenience, Thievery Corporation, Bebel Gilberto, Tricky, Armand Van Helden, Amy Winehouse, Rage Against the Machine, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stephane Pompougnac's Hotel Costes mixes, Ministry of Sound mixes, Hed Kandi mixes, SomaFM's Groove Salad, and Ibiza Global Radio.

Books:

The books that have had the most impact on my life and broadened my perspective have included Tim Ferris' "The 4-Hour Workweek", Tom Peters' "The BrandYou50", Dale Carnegie's "How to Win Friends and Influence People", John Eldredge's "Wild at Heart", and recently Rolff Potts' "Vagabonding" and "Now, Discover Your Strengths"

Heroes:

Timothy Ferriss, Tony Robbins, Benjamin Franklin, Warren Buffett, Jack Johnson, Al Gore, CEO and relationship-builder Rajesh Setty, Erik "Mystery" von Markovik, Australian million-dollar blogger Darren Rowse, personal growth blogger Steve Pavlina, my late childhood friend Christopher Reid Cravens, my good friend and natural leader Paul Dickey, and my fellow world traveler Nicole Pefley
