Brokenhomes, a country wide epidemic. But our tale is no sob story, we use the word as it describes us best. Brokenhomes, the idea, was spawned by the older of the two brothers who make up the Brokenhomes camp. Whilst working for the countries great railway system, he came up with name to be a header for music to be released into the great unknown. The genre of music was undecided and the first release still may never come. You see, Brokenhomes make beats for the sheer joy of it. A kind of brotherly rivalry keeps them in their respective studios honing their craft and searching for that 'perfect beat'. Outraygeous, the older of the two, has been involved in the garage scene since '98 DJing on pirate radio stations in the local area. His love of music extends back to his childhood where every week he would get a fresh new 7 inch vinyl to play at home on the stereo. From those early days, he was hooked on those black discs. The steps from DJing to production were inevitable and with help of patience and a lot of time, Outraygeous got to grips with the powers of the MPC2000.
Greedykids path into music was through a much different route. Having the parental pressure applied to him, he was 'forced' to take piano lessons. Enthusiastic at first, the love affair with scales and endless practice wore thin but a talent and ear for music was definitely there. Taking the PSone control pad firmly in two hands he took his first steps into the world of production. Graduating to a top of the line fruity loops and piano set up.
Style wise, Outraygeous' music tends to be more 'simplistic' musically. Having only the skills on the 'wheels of steel' he tends to gauge what would work on the dance floor and have most effect on people heads and hips. Greedykids music contains memorable riffs, killer bass lines and mature sound above his years in production.
The brothers influence each other as their tastes in music are quite different. Outraygeous is from more or a garage/grime outlook where Greedykid is starting to experiment with the Broken beat side of things. But this doesn't mean that they will not produce out of their genres of choice. They strive to make quality music no matter what pigeon hole it should fit in.
