Rollerblading, random driving, wandering through forests, trespassing :D, photography, chess, cribbage, shooting (targets mostly), potato cannons, exploring anything, video games (mostly FPS and WoW), guitar playing (fingerstyles), meeting new people, watching movies, traveling--especially traveling. ... Ya know, I'm actually interested in pretty much everything.
I would love to meet Leo Kottke.. and Moby again...didn't get to chat much last time, myself 20 years from now, myself 14 years ago, Jesus, Cid Arrthaguatama (however you spell that), and Mohammed. Preferably all three of those guys at once...that'd be interesting. I'm sure there are more folks I'd like to meet, but I don't think much about it, so maybe they'll come to mind later.
Generally I like everything I hear, but I seek out irish, techno, fingerstyle guitar music, and what I consider intelligent pop music. Some artists that come to mind are: Anuna, Don Ross, Leo Kottke, John Mayer, Dave Matthews, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, A Perfect Circle, Sara MacLaghlan, Jamiroquai, Moby, Fleetwood Mac, Bobby McFerrin, Al Dimeola, the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Zero 7, the Crystal Method, Maroon 5, Väsen, Eminem, Savage Aural Hotbed...
Television...hmm.. that's the thing against the wall I never turn on, right? I like Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Futurama, and just about anything on the History Channel, most notably Mythbusters and Modern Marvels.
Mostly escapism here... The Recluce Saga, by L.E. Modesitt, Jr., The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, all of the Shanarra series by Terry Brooks, especially the Voyage of the Jerle Shanarra trilogy. On the more real side, the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Steven Covey, The Tao de Ching by Lao Tzu (the S. Walker translation), Illusions by Richard Bach (also several of his others rock). I need to read more than I have in my recent past. A person who doesn't read is just as well off as a person who can't.
Bruce Thibodeau. I don't stand in awe of many people...almost none, but this guy... wow. You would have had to meet him to really understand, but he was incredible. He has a family of 5; wife, two daughters and a son. All of them are beautiful, talented, and just friggin' amazing people. A few years ago he was diagnosed with Esophagal cancer, with a 4% chance of survival. He did. Not only did he, but he thrived...I think he exlemplifies so many of what are the ways to live: honesty, honor, integrity, endless love, understanding, coaching, interest, enthusiasm, equality, forgiveness, generosity, peace, service... BT is who I think of when I know I'm taking the easy way out of something. His passion for life was so strong that it's contagious. Unfortuantely, lung cancer found him last year and he passed away earlier this year. But memory of him only strengthens what he stands for to me, I think.
