Well, what is there to say that hasn’t been said a thousand times before? I am and 18 year old bisexual female. I have a boyfriend named Oz. He understands me and puts up with my obsessions and oddities, to the point he will even pacify me with a midnight tea party, for that alone, and countless other reasons, I adore him.
I have just passed my A-levels and am going on to study German, my passion, in King's College London. Come September, I will be inhabiting that filthy, beautiful, depraved, magnificent city England calls it’s capital. I adore large cities, they make me feel part of something far larger and diverse that the human mind can comprehend.
My style is Gothic, if you somehow possibly failed to notice. However, I dislike being shoved in a little box. I like to think my style and influences are somewhat varied -
for all my leanings towards the elegant sophistication and Victorian influences of the Trad Goth scene, I am also fascinated by the trance-inducing lights and adrenaline-rushing music of the Cyber Goth scene. I like to take elements from both, and countless other varieties in-between and keep playing with my image and re-inventing myself – it allows me to be like a child playing dress-ups, I get to experiment and have fun.
One thing I do hate about the Goth scene, however is that bitchy ‘Gother Than Thou’ attitude that seems to float around certain circles: No, I may not know every Goth band there is. And Yes, I may like a certain few bands that are not strictly ‘Gothic’, but I don’t care. I will like what I like because I enjoy it and not because I’m trying to adhere to some ridiculous set of rule that someone somewhere made up. The Goth scene takes itself altogether too seriously sometimes – we need to learn to laugh at ourselves, because there is a lot of things in the Goth scene that are quite frankly hilarious when viewed with the right mentality.
As a person, I can be very opinionated once I have made up my mind on an issue. Agree or disagree strongly with me on a point I am vehement about – let me know: we can discuss or debate the point and maybe both expand our minds a little.
I am immensely clumsy, something that can prove absolutely lethal when wearing 6 inch platform heels and sleeves that trail several feet behind me – It causes me to throw myself at random men whilst shopping in Sainsbury’s.
I am very, very busy and absolutely awful at prioritizing and organizing my time effectively. However if my friends really need me, I will do my utmost to be there for them.
