honer is a Canadian born Electronic musician who has been recording and playing shows around, Alberta for about 7 years. Venues have ranged from record stores (Listen records and Megatunes), cafe's, community halls (children of Iraq relief fundraiser), art galleries and modern dance performances (citie ballet).
honer's music is an amalgamation of found and sampled sounds that are later sonically altered to ones created on synthesizers. At times he can spend several months perfecting one sound in a particular arrangement. The purpose of spending so much time to create sounds in honer's words is to "....exploit each part of a sound to draw on all of it's characteristics and emotion."
honer's first experience with electronic music came when he first purchased an album by Canadian industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy. Ever since that time honer has been drawn to the infinite sonic possibilities that electronic music has to offer.
As his experiments in electronic music has evolved his influences have as well, they include autechre, boards of canada, fennesz, einsteurzende neuauten and cEvin keys.
3 years ago honer released his first full length album of his experiments entitled "take a handfull." Even though he has completed the album and released to local Edmonton record stores, revisions of the song continually occur, with the need to perfect every sound as the catalyst.
Through music honer hopes to reveal that there is complexity in minimalism and beauty in simplicity.thank you for being you and for listening.
