sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together ~Marilyn Monroe

About Me

Meeting planner by day; Livin' it up in the 'Ham at night. I am an outgoing girl who loves to see the good in people. There's not many nights when I just chill at home. I know too many wonderful people to sit around at home by myself. If you know of anything going on, let me know! I am the person you call when you want to do something crazy and you need an accomplice. I won't be the one to start trouble but I can certainly find some to get into :) 95% of the time I will choose being with people over being alone. That means that sometimes my house is a little messy or I need to mow the lawn, and if you're looking for food in my fridge - you are definitely SOL. I do have lots of sweets, though! And if you can cook, I'm your best friend! I am a smart-ass, all the time - I don't think I could turn it off if I tried. I certainly don't sugarcoat things but I am rarely intentionally mean. I am very protective of my friends and family. I believe that life is short and that each day is important. Never should you live your life just looking to make it to the next day. I don't think anybody is racing to get to the end! If you are unhappy with an aspect of your life then you have to deal with it or change it; complaining will not solve the problem and will quite possibly cause more. I have lived by this philosophy for a few years(after sticking around in a miserable job for far too long) and now I am surrounded by things that I love and happy, fun people to share it with. Do you know how cool that is? I do :) I am an extremely lucky and blessed person! I never take that for granted and I use it to help out others whenever possible. Who knows when my luck will run out & I will need the favor returned. I would rather share with ten times more people than have ten times more than other people. I'm just making sure that I don't look back and feel like I wasted time. Just here to share the love!

My Interests

I absolutely love to hear a good band play. You can find me shaking it at Zydeco, Innisfree, Barking Kudu or anywhere else in the birmingham area that a great band is playing. I also enjoy hanging out with a great group of friends at Fox and Hound (until we head over to Hogan's to drop it like it's hot!). Oh and I'm always up for karaoke!!
You're a risk-taker, and you follow your passions. You're determined to take on the world and succeed on your own terms. Whether in the arts, science, engineering, business, or politics, you fearlessly express your own vision of the world. You're not afraid of a fight, and you're not afraid to bet your future on your own abilities. If you find a job boring or stifling, you're already preparing your resume. You believe in doing what you love, and you're not willing to settle for an ordinary life.

Music:

If they can play live, I will listen! I love outdoor concerts, especially when they involve blankets, dogs, & frisbee. I listen to a wide variety of music from R&B to bluegrass but some of my favorites are Janis Joplin, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Radiohead, Cowboy Junkies, Ani DiFranco, Bela Fleck, Ben Harper, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Black Eyed Peas, and the Indigo Girls. I am huge fan of listening to female artists. I also like music that tells a story ~ Actually I like anything or anyone that can tell a good story :)Wanna hear it? Here it go! Lindsey's Yahoo! Movies:

I like comedies, some action, and thrillers. No scary movies! I especially like movies that make you see something in a way you've never seen it before. My most favoritest movie is Amelie. It's a quirky story about a girl with an active imagination who meets her counterpart by doing random acts of kindness for others. It's a French film(beware of subtitles!) and won many awards for the amazing cinematography and for the brilliant mind of the OCD director - not even the tiniest detail is accidental. It's a great movie !

Television:

I usually don't watch too much TV but I do love Grey's Anatomy and The Family Guy!

Books:

I love to read, although I don't get through books very quickly these days. I read at night before bed unless it's too late, which it usually is. Most of the time I am reading one or two books, most likely fiction. I like to read books that other people recommend. Two of my favorite authors are Tom Robbins and Kurt Vonnegut. My dad is a school librarian, so I have always had a bond with children's stories. There are so many wonderful lessons in children's books. If I need an escape, I'll plop down in the kid's section of the book store and surround myself with books. I love illustrations by Maurice Sendak (he wrote & illustrated 'Where the Wild Things Are') and who doesn't love some Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, or 'Goodnight Moon'.

Heroes:

Anyone who has chosen a more difficult path because they knew it was the right way to go.Leave me a note :)Memories from my hometown ~
