About Me

Gracehopper are a 5 piece classic rock band based in Dublin. Their wide range of influences are reflected in their music, with tracks such as ‘Good Owl Times’ and ‘Wolf Door’ using powerful and punchy guitar riffs reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and Thin Lizzy. Other tracks like ‘There Were Days,’ ‘Don’t Shoot Me Down’ and ‘San Diego’ use catchy hooks and three part vocal harmonies such as those of The Beatles or Crosby Stills and Nash.
Although only 4 and 5 minutes long, ‘Sands Of Time’ and ‘Distance Unknown’ are each a nod to the prog rock gods of the 70’s such as Genesis, Yes and King Crimson, while refined enough to appeal to today’s audience. The eerie yet atmospheric ‘Deathstar March’ is heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, complete with a haunting but beautiful piano solo leading to a chaotic finale.
With their eclectic mix of songs, Gracehopper are known to put on a very energetic live show, with audiences never knowing what to expect next. Following the release of their self-produced E.P., the band successfully organised and headlined the Brickens Music Festival in the summer of 2008. Regarded by many as the best of its kind that year, they plan to make it a two day event in 2009.
