About Me

Click here to Vote for Backyard Cohort!WWW.BACKYARDCOHORT.COM NOW UP!! Welcome to the official Backyard Cohort Myspace page. Chicago's up and coming acoustic-rock-jam band! Rapidly gaining the attention of viewers all over the Midwest! BC is made up of four distinguished looks and personalities. A couple of the boyz have been friends since the start of high school, and used to experiment together when ever they had the chance, jamming everything from classic rock to college rock. They had been getting a lot feedback from friends about taking these jam sessions out of the "Backyard" and onto a stage. Late spring of 2005 founding member Michael Enguita was playing a solo act at a pub in Orland Park, where periodically Jimmy Castro would join in, just an acoustic thing for the summer. This weekly gig lasted over 2 1/2 years. The beginning of Backyard Cohort had begun. Michael's unique lyrics and writing style along with a group of guys that have been apart of metal, blues and rock bands distinguished BC as something 'different'!! They had been introduced to an amazing drummer named (Pat Shannon) one of Chicago's most talented and colorful drummers (to say the least) shortly there after Steve Jackson joined on bass, adding to the flavor occasionally Mikey Daley joins in on lead acoustic and of course Jimmy Castro on lead guitar. Shortly after a full band was in full effect BC was molding an original style. The hype was building dramatically; they have been gracing the stages of pubs, coffee houses and arena's all over Chicago and its suburbs. Backyard Cohorts passion lies in their original music...mastering Bridge, New Shoes, Yesterday's Beginning, Stories, The Place to B, Lesson Learned, Fallacy, Ride and Mr. Baker. They have a refreshing, imaginative style that is hard to place; they leave that up to you! These gentlemen just need a bottle of Whiskey and their instruments and they'll work on grabbing your attention! Michael Enguita playing acoustic here EVERY Monday 9-12am, 21+ $6 pitchers $5 martinins!
