WOLFE CITY — Michael Wesley Mitchell, 66, of Lake Charles La., formerly of Greenville, died Oct. 8, 2008, following a lengthy illness at his home with his family at his bedside. A service is scheduled at 10 a.m. today in the R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home chapel in Wolfe City with Lonnie Ray Hicks officiating.Visitation is at 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.Born Nov. 30, 1941, in Wolfe City, he was the son of William Wesley and Ila Ingram Mitchell. He married Lillian Davine Carson on April 26, 2002, in Lake Charles, La. Mr. Mitchell was a master plumber and was owner of Mitchell Emergency Plumbing in Greenville for 25 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sulphur, La. He was a loving, kind and devoted husband, father, uncle, pawpaw and friend. He will be deeply loved and missed, and the game of Spades will never be the same.Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of Lake Charles, La.; a daughter, Shawna Archer and husband Malcolm of Greenville; sons Wesley Mitchell and Dolan Butterfield of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren, Michael Archer of Greenville and Ashley Archer of Orlando, Fla.; a great-grandson, Kody Archer of Greenville; four nieces, Patsy Young, Jo Polansky, Janila LeBouef and Sandy Armstrong; several nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and many relatives and friends.
