I am 29 years old, too close to 30! My personalities vary greatly between home and work--at home (and socially), I'm a complete spaz, free spirited, and fun. I love good laughs, good wine, and good friends to share them with. At work I am extremely pragmatic and organized--bad grammar REALLY annoys me, and anyone who has worked with me knows how meticulous I am about that! For the most part, though, I am genuinely warm and accepting of new aquaintances and friends. I am your friend forever, unless of course betray my trust and I will then build a wall against you. I am currently working in Hotel Management, helping run a 49-room hotel in the seasonal vacation area of Shelter Island, NY. My main focus at this time is my career advancement, as I am looking to move back South within the next year or so, with continuation in the Hospitality Industry or perhaps I may make a career change--I do have a few options on my mind. When things are closed at the hotel, I keep myself busy buy bartending on the weekends, when available (anybody on SI will understand the "winter" situation)...It's true what all the old-timers say, once you take your first step behind the bar you can truly never leave. My hope is that one day I will again be able to once again perform on stage--quite honestly, that's where my true talent is. I'm too practical, though, to continue to pursue a career in theatrical arts. I've tried it before both in Nashville and New York City, and learned that paying my bills is, for now, more important.I love people in general and some of my best moments and fondest memories have been spent in lighthearted conversation. However, I have no tolerance for dishonesty and voluntary ignorance. When the checkbook allows, I like to travel. I love to drive, so road trips are the best! During my down time, I love to play tennis, bowl (GO ROCKETTES), and sometimes take in a good happy hour. When alone, I always enjoy a good book or reruns of Six Feet Under and The Sopranos.

My Interests

People, the world and its various cultures, traveling, everything culinary, and just enjoying life in general.

I'd like to meet:

You are Bettie Page
Girl next door with a wild streak
You're a famous beauty - with unique look
And the people like you are cultish about it What Famous Pinup Are You? There are so many people in the spotlight that "could" be interesting, but most importantly I'm looking to reconnect with old friends and aquaintances that I've lost touch with, and hopefully make more friends with common interests along the way.David Duchovny is pretty cool too...If you're out there mi amor....

Music:

The Dixie Chicks, Radiohead, Patty Griffin, Amy Winehouse, U2, Sting, the Beastie Boys, Guns, Aerosmith,Rascall Flatts, I could really go on for days. Music is so personal--different things speak to me at different times, whether it be metal, gospel, bluegrass, country, rock, whatever... My mood and vibe really dictate what I need musically.

Movies:

Forrest Gump, Braveheart, Walk the Line, Boys Don't Cry, Traffic, The Wedding Singer, The Sound of Music, and American Beauty are my favorites. I especially love movies that 'have a message,' or are inspiring in any way.

Television:

Top Chef is my favorite show until it's done...But please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD--no more reality TV!!!!! Other than that, I LOVE reruns of the Wonder Years, Law & Order and X-Files marathons...ok, yes it's sad...I love reruns of old shows. None of the new stuff is really appealing to me, though.

Books:

Seeing as I spent most of my college studies following English and American Literature, this is where my favorites are. My favorite books though are To Kill a Mockingbird and The Color Purple. Actually, the short stories by Jonathan Swift, William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, and Susan Glaspell are my favorites. I, of course, have a preference toward playwrights--Shakespeare being my favorite. Lately, book-wise, I've been really into James Patterson. It's always a quick read and the plot is always intense.

Heroes:

My Granddaddy--I miss you so much and know you're with me every night in my dreams. My Grandmother, for being such a public figure without even realizing you are, and, of course, my brother...God Bless You for what you had to endure in the Middle East...And anyone who stands up for what they believe is true, right, and correct and bringing a ray of light into a dark world.
