About Me

My slogan is "High quality music meets high quality message." The highest quality message that a person can get is from the source of goodness, so I'm looking to support/spread the message that the Almighty wants me spreading. I believe I can do that best through the gifts He's endowed me with: spoken word, songwriting, and film scoring. I mean, hey, if He gives me the gifts, I owe Him the courtesy of using them the way He'd like me to, right? :-)
I'm growing all the time, with my biggest growth spurt being on September 30, 2007 when I made the decision to really let the Almighty guide my steps. So check out the poetry and random thoughts in my blog, but keep that in mind when reading. And know that my goal is to show an alternative to what the mainstream is blasting. When you come to this page, you can expect to take something good from everything you take in, without all the crap to go with it. So keep your ears open and your eyes peeled. Enjoy!
Peace,
Kep.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: www.sonicbids.com/KepaFreeman
Band Members: Kepa "Noblestone" Freeman
Influences: Georgia Ave., church, Open Mics in DC & Philly, movie soundtracks, jam sessions, the U Street music scene, 91.9 Christian Contemporary, my friends' playlists, mainstream radio (back when I could enjoy at least 10 percent of the songs), Philly's jazz scene, Temple's music department, My Dad's favorite music, My Mom's favorite music, music from around the world; the list goes on and on.

I like anything from Jimmy Needham to DaTruth, Lauryn Hill to Beethoven, Stan Getz to John Mayer, Sergio Mendez to Etta James, Corinne Bailey Rae to Eva Cassidy, Rob Dougan to Hans Zimmer, JaHipster to Blair Wingo, Cape Town Jazz to Machoché Indian Flute, the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra to that guy by the Metro stop with a guitar in his hand and a hat out for spare change. . . I try to keep it eclectic. As long as it's good art with a good message, nice and Christ-friendly, then I'm feeling it.
Sounds Like: Wisdom, love, encouragement, truth, a breath of fresh air. . .The Gospel with a Bass Line.Artistically?"I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." - 1 Corinthians 9:22
