Washington Engine Company is the second Engine Company of the Croton Volunteer Fire Department. Established Feb. 12, 1892, Washington Engine has been proudly serving the citezens of Croton, and the surrounding areas of the town of Cortlandt for 114 years. There are currently 51 active members, all of which are volunteers.
We have 2 Apparauts - The newest apparatus in the Croton Fire Dept is Engine 119 - A 2006 Seagrave pumper. It has a 1750 GPM pump, 10KW Generator, and 750 Gallon water tank. Additional info can be found on the company website - www.engine119croton.org.
Tanker 10 is a 1990 International/EEI which carries 3300 gallons of water. This is used for areas where there are no fire hydrants, such as areas in the Town of Cortlandt, Route 9, and the Metro-North Harmon Shops.
