The spirit of Hugendubler
It was a quiet night throughout the house, nothing was heard, not even a mouse. The clock struck twelve, the bells did toll. All was sleeping, till Hugendubler did show through the window he soon did flee when
he'd lay eggs up top the hugendubler tree. Then with the wake of the morning sun down the stairs the children would run, peeping into their Hugendubler socks hoping not to find Hugendubler rocks but perhaps a Huggy bear or a Huggy toy hoping he thought they were a good girl, or boy. Then with a laugh, all would be at ease as they saw huggyeggs in their Hugendubler tree. "He did come. He did!" cried Susie and Sam. Then with the family, they'd have Hugendubler Yam.
"Tis a fine day," Pop would say, as he looked on with care. "Be good again, and you'll see him next year."
