CORRID'OR
First things first: it’s hard to promote correct dance music in a province like Limburg in the east of Belgium. There are few clubs or occasions to shake your rudebox at the right tunes. Luckily, on the other hand, it’s easy to notice exceptional quality in this forgotten rural corner of the country! Corrid’or, a DJ duo based in a small town called Sint-Truiden are heading towards the right way to go. Their mission is plain simple: electrifying entertainment without decreasing the quality level. It’s a cliché in every bio but Bert and Sven, both in their mid twenties, have been intoxicated by funky music since their ‘short shorts days’. Jogging down their influences is the hardest part to do in this biography. We can say they’ve been mainly inspired as DJ’s by the unique Idjut Boys, Chicken Lips and our own Belgian Glimmers! To put a label on it: original dancefloor damage!
The DJ adventure of Corrid’or (a name that came by accident in a local pub) began almost three years ago while the two were collecting vinyl. They remember their early getting ups on Saturday to run to the local flea market to score hard to find maxi’s and albums. During the same period they started investing in proper equipment and the whole process of DJ’ing started to slide in a faster gear!
Suppose that Prince, Frankie Knuckles, Trevor Jackson and even Emmanuel Top would open a nightclub together? Well, Corrid’or would and should apply for a residency! They mix everything with a certain soul; From Rave to Broken Beats, from Italo Disco to Rock and all of that is backed up by a serious amount of funky House and Electro.
At first their hometown audience wasn’t into their eclectic blend and so they went further to a trendy bar in Diest. The owner gave them a great chance to play weekly and things were going smooth for the two! After serious investments and spending hours in recordshops they wanted to do something more consistent, a residency in their hometown would be a great start! Corrid’or hooked up with their friend and local promotor Dim, who had a tricky idea of pushing quality House parties under the name Cocadisco. A year after the pilot edition of Cocadisco, the schedule of the resident duo is packed.
Besides a serious amount of local parties they recently played at first-rate parties such as Laundry Day,Play Festival, Easy Fuck, MODfest, Breakdown and in nice venues like Café d’Anvers, Silo, De Vooruit, Recyclart, Musiccafé, Soundstation, Muziekodroom, The Zoo and Montini. Looking good, sounds even better!
