Holy Crap!!! I'm a mom now!!! Everyone always told me that you never know what love is until you have a child and I can say with all of my heart that is so true. Sydnie was born on March 5th, 2008 and just after 8 hours of giving birth to my beautiful baby girl we were told that she would have to have open heart surgery. She was born with a heart defect called Hemitruncus where the left ventricle of the pulmonary artery was actually attached to the aorta. The Friday following her delivery Sydnie went into metabolic shock and was sent immediately to the NICU where she remained on a ventilator for the next three weeks. Her surgery was on the 18th of March and after 7 uneasy hours the surgeon came in and told us that he was very hopeful and confident that the surgery went well. Sydnie has amazed everyone with her remarkable recovery and is still amazing me every single day. I thank God every day for blessing me with such a special little girl. I believe that Sydnie would not be where she is today without the prayers and support from all of my friends, family and even complete strangers who have lifted her up in prayer. I am the happiest I have ever been and I have so many people to thank for that.... especially my wonderful husband who stayed by my side the entire time Sydnie was in the hospital. Just when I didn't think I could love him any more than I already did, I have fallen in love with him all over again. He is my saint and the love of my life. A special heartfelt thanks goes out to everyone who has been praying for us. God is good!
