Biography
In its current form, LeGrand has existed since late 2000 but the members have a mutual musical past going back almost 15 years. Since then, the guys have been in and out of each others bands. By the late 90s they left their hometown Motala for Malmö. LeGrand is a five-piece-band of old friends and brothers. Perhaps due to the very wide-spread musical influences which all of them brought into the band, they managed to create a unique sound of blending straight and simple rock with melodic and catchy choruses. Under strange circumstances or a twist of fate, call it what you like, one of the band's demos came into the hands of Anders 'Theo' Theander, the owner of the recording studio and management company RoastingHouse, who really liked what he heard. Soon the song Calling You was put on their compilation disc and spread to record companies worldwide.
In the summer of 2003 LeGrand started recording what would become their debut album, and in May 2005 the band signed with RoastingHouse Records/Rough Trade. The album entitled LeGrand, is released in October 2005 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In May 2006 the single One Quick Look is released in Sweden and it enters on the 25th place on the Swedish single chart. The band, however, is already in the studio working hard on their next album. Since the recording of LeGrand in 2003 the band has continued to develop into a real rock act where the songs are more direct, more straight to the core and less pompous. They wanted to capture the energy that is so apparent at their live shows.
During spring, summer and fall of 2006 the band has been in the studio on and off, recording the new album. As the sessions progressed it soon became clear that this was going to be something really extraordinary. This time, the band knew which direction to take with the new material and everything really came together in the studio. After having spent days, weeks and months recording, tweaking, tuning, mixing and finally mastering, Sidewalks & Stations is finished. On this album there are some really really great songs that will hit you hard. They will not let you go but rather remain in your head with its melodic harmonies, catchy choruses backed up by a solid drum beat, pumping bass-playing, stinging guitar riffs and keyboards.
A first single will be released during spring followed by the album later during 2007.
