DJ Amber is a San Francisco-based techno DJ and producer with a driving beat and aggressively risky mixing technique in a town better known for its laid back house style. Her CD releases include “Live with Friends and Family†(2004), “Gold†(2002), and “CityDweller†(2001). Amber's most recent remix release is an uptempo version of "At Least Let's Make It Fun" by FM Fatale. She has also just completed a remix of a track off the great new album Illuminate by Karmacoda. This track will be featured on a CD of remixes from the album Illuminate to be released in fall 2007 by Sola Musa Music.
Amber co-founded NorCal DJ and Music Production Academy in San Francisco, and has been a recurring guest lecturer for the UCLA Graduate School of Musicology course on “The History of Electronic Musicâ€. She is a resident with the Sister SF branch of Sister USA, the most recognized cross-genre, all-female DJ collective in the world. From 2002 - 2003 San Francisco Bay Area locals watched Amber on television as Host of :CODE, a nightlife and electronic music television show. Amber and her projects have been featured in Remix Magazine (US), XLR8R (US), Etc. Magazine (US), Karma Magazine (US), Szene (Germany), the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Magazine and numerous online publications. Amber has also been featured in two documentary films, “Generation E†and “Vinyl is a Girl's Best Friendâ€, and has been a featured panel speaker at Remix Hotel.
