About Me

Mark's Midnight Carnival Show is an Indie-Acoustic-Powerpop quartet with a passion for performing live. Mark Bush (Texas) - Vocals & Guitar, Scott Bein (Missouri) - Guitar, Melissa Joy (???) - Bass Guitar, and Gavin Straub (Michigan) - Percussion make up this motley group of misfits. The band attacks their music head on, layering intensely powerful vocals, smoothly inventive guitar lines, rich embellishing bass lines, and rhythmic precision with a percussive acoustic sound creating something rare and unseen in modern music. Playing all over Colorado and to places beyond they deliver the hard and the soft, the electric and the unplugged, the up and the down seamlessly. The band began as a solo act with Mark Bush back in December of 2007. For almost 2 years Mark performed around southern Colorado honing his skills as a performer and paving the way the band would follow. Following a carefully worded Craigslist ad the solo became a trio, adding Scott on guitar and Gavin on Drums. The trio set off to impressing audiences all over the state of Colorado and performed that way for almost 4 months. With so much momentum behind them and gigs every Friday and Saturday the band needed to round out their sound and found the bottom end they needed in a friend named Melissa (of"Edith Makes a Paper Chain" fame). Whether it is the ultra-seductive Sonic Boom, the make you wanna move Moon Song, or the fan favorite Dancing, MMCS knows how to pull their audience into their music. No song is long enough or can be played too often. And those are just the originals. With the odd cover thrown in here and there, everyone is sure to find something in their performances to sing along with. Heard anywhere from the local bar, to the coffee shops, and the farmers market, there is no reason you should be staying home when Marks Midnight Carnival Show is playing. From Miles Davis to Phantom Planet, from Dave Mathews to Radiohead, and somewhere in between it all you get a bit of Cindi Lauper. The Band fuses a sound that is unique, but at the same time familiar and most of all memorable. With influences ranging from all genres and periods of music, they move effortlessly from one to the other. The band is sure to catch the attention of everyone who comes within earshot of their music. So set your TiVo to record tonight's episode of So You Think You Can Dance, tell the babysitter you wont be home early, and get ready to RAWK! Marks Midnight Carnival Show is about to perform.
